though Newquay is a bit of a dump.
The lake district
The Isle of Wight
The North of Wales for the country roads..
nice and relaxing.
worlds most boring place
The desert of the UK. Stunning.
there for a bit. At least on the doortep of it.
indeed! it was possibly THE best place to spend formative years.
I spent years swimming in lochs and lying on grass covered hill sides.
I am listening to King Cresote and all I can think of his a big sunny day on a hill. I can't be arsed working tomorrow.... :(
i spent the first 10 years of my life in sunny Bellshill/Viewpark.
Have you's not got a bank holiday tomorra?
But I don't get them off automatically. Also, I am going with a friend to JoFo this thursday at Moshulu and will be too drunk to make it on Friday so I might have to stay in their good books...
Whereabouts? It's lovely there, much nicer than the massively overrated Newquay.
but then there's a huge number of places I haven't visited and need to.
it's got a butlins
with long walks and picnics.
although more recently I've mostly been holidaying by visiting my Uncle who lives in the village of Kilmartin which is in Argyll in Scotlandshire. That's a really nice area of the country.
anywhere with mountains and lakes :)
around st ives.
Spent a long weekend near Glastonbury last summer - so nice.
Cornwall: St Ives, Polzeath/Daymer Bay, Rock, Padstow, St Agnes, Fistral/Watergate Bay for the surf, but other than that there is no cause to go to Newquay EVER.
Dorset: Jurassic Coast, Purbecks, Bournemouth/Poole in the summer...I end up feeling like I'm on holiday in spite of the fact I live here.
The West Country FTW.
Shout outs to North Yorkshire, The Channel Islands and the Gower Peninsula, Wales.
The Lake District.
Its pretty awesome, especially for walking all day.
never been, but I imagine this will be one of my favourites.
Skye & oban are stunning.
The Cotswolds are also very beautiful - and not too far away :)
Viking and Roman stuff
It's a lovely weekend get away.
i'm hardly one to speak as i've not been anywhere but cardiff, and i've lived here since september.
or the Dales. So long as it's over Hawes way. The rest of the Dales, however amazing, is too close to feel like actually going away.
And then I suppose the highlands / islands in Scotland, and reluctantly, Cornwall.
near newquay is amazing too. went camping and bodyboarding with friends last summer.
I have fond memories of North Yorkshire's famous triumvirate: Filey, Scarborough and Whitby.
Redcar also irks some vivid childhood memories, although I am keen to distance myself with them as the place is little less salubrious than the others. Saltburn though, is lovely.
Burnham Market area... I'd love to go back there again soon.
is not in north norfolk.....
its too close for comfort where it is.
I took it for granted when i lived in Norfolk, but I certainly miss certain aspects of it. Especially having the coast pretty much on your doorstep. I miss that :(
I've enjoyed going to those places. Am yet to go to the Lake District, and I'd quite like to.
Sucks to be you lot!
*Peak District Line* joke
the village it was near Steve or something was perhaps the nicest place I have ever ever been to. Although it isnt a holiday destination.
it is a lovely naturally beautiful beachey delight, and it was on skins
Possibly the finest beach in the UK.... and the Minack Theatre is built into the granite cliffs, a stunning place to watch any show at sunset in the summer.
and go back to the Isles of Scilly.
