I was having a discussion earlier about children's TV and two things came to light:
1) This was the probably the best thing I ever watched on TV as a kid. Can't think of anything better.
2) This could just be me becoming prematurely conservative, but kids tv today doesn't seem to be as innovative, nor does it seem as hard-hitting (for kids, at least). I remember watching Grange Hill and Byker Grove, amongst others, and along with the occasional shocking death, there were storylines about alcoholism, drug abuse etc.
Not that I keep track of it much anymore, but what my sister watches is mostly awful, which is a real shame. Grumpy young man rant over.
