Okay, so as I've mentioned just slightly more than once or twice, I'm moving to Dundee and so need to get somewhere to stay there.
I have a bit of a dilema.. Preferably I'd like to share a rented flat, but seeing as I know no-one from there my flatmates would be strangers and not knowing the city at all might pose as a bit of a problem in flat hunting too.
My other option is to stay in the halls of residence. The upside of this is that it'll be a good distance from the uni and I'm more likely to meet a variety of people there. It just doesn't seem as attractive a prospect, with having to move out in the holidays and having to share communal areas with larger numbers of people. The rooms look too much like travel lodge rooms for my liking. But maybe I'm being too picky.
Money is also a big factor, but from googling flatshare in Dundee, rent seems to cost no more than the halls.
Are there any other pros and cons or factors I should consider in the decision between the two?
Did you stay in the halls? Was it a positive or negative experiance for you? Etc.
