Uh...read that ^
I think I kinda do. I know only one other person who is registered here and he lurks. So, No. :(
but face-to-face. Everyone in London always has posts like "oh, we did this" or "how funny was it when X said _____ to Y"...whereas Glasgow doesn't seem to have been tied like that.
(the X said ___ to Y is a good thread idea...)
unless of course some other friends are unknowingly to me signed up here as well.
Not because I lie or anything, I just have this veneer of cool the Internet manages to remove.
posts on here. My b/f knows i post and he reads, so i suspect i get monitored.
you know, so we could all be "how funny was it when X said _____ to Y"... but I don't think it went ahead after I left.
But the thread died when you said you were moving away. :(
but i wasn't here yet.
it just fell behind all the other threads, didn't it?
We should organise another.
What would be more effective would be if there was an event on in Glasgow a few of us are likely to be going to anyway and just arrange to meet.
i thought about carrying it on, but got too shy to do it myself
I'll organise a picnic in Kelvingrove Park or something.
That might work.
that would be awesome
Apart from Klaire, Monogoat and Fleshettes, who I all know before i started posting on here. So yeah, I'm an outcast.
I must have been in the company of many DiSsers on many many occasions.
the morrow? I think there might be a few going then. I will be at We Are The Physics in May and a Johnny Foreinger gigin the 'deen.
and as for gigs, i have these:
There: my secrets have been told!
is Tamworth near Birmingham?
and two-thirds of the estates were built in the 1960s and 1970s to house the Birmingham overspill?
That's always the test
when in summer is this visit of yours?
have yet to finalise a date, but it'll likely be in July.
what if i miss it? WHAT IF I MISS IT???!?!?!?!?!
before I plan my visit anyway. My friends will let me stay any time I want really.
i'll bring a frisbee and a disposable BBQ. Once we're done with it, we can throw the hot coals at the primates on "the hill"
How I miss buckfast and house.
I bet you're excited.
I miss doing the "Sunday morning Sauchiehall St sick shuffle"
I miss the Barrowlands and Optimo and Sleazy's
by the looks of it
and I spent lots of time in Kelvingrove Park, so... likely !
I would be a rich man if it not for Fopp byers road! How I love it though.
I almost ended up working in Fopp on Union St but instead worked in the Link at the top of it. Next to the trainstation.
Just thought I would mention it. Fopp is the only thing I like on union street.
Hope Street is vomit inducing too. And Sauchiehall Street.
In fact I am not much of a fan of the city centre these days, too many plebs littering and wearing tracksuits!
i tend to stay West, apart from at lunch times when i go to Fopp or Avalanche to spend all my money
I was enjoying a few of the west ends finest drinking holes yesterday.
is so filthy! Seriously, after a hot day at work there you come home covered in grime.
when it opened on Argyle Street. You may have been the Fopp person telling me off for flyering outside your door because my manager told me to
squashed over there ---------->
on that note, i'm off home. Huzzah!
I had a drunken chat with a guy recently who was convinced he knew me and I thought he looked very familiar after much discussion it transpired that we had been to pretty much the exact same gigs for about the last 3 years.
You can keep no secrets in Glasgow, can be a real pain. But I do love it so.
And I've never met another DiSer IRL. :(
Don't know anyone.
even with "london centric" in the title, no-one from outside glasgow has posted in this thread.
I fondly imagine that you all gathered around a television in your shared tenement to watch River City whilst feasting on a smorgasbord of deep fried delights and sharing needles.
But the rest don't want to come over... :(
