I don't know if I'm really wrong here, but somethings been bugging me about people saying this. When I was growing up this phrase was used to mean 'oooh I'm thirsty'. Nowadays I only ever hear it being used in the context of someone being really angry. Surely the correct term for that would be 'Spitting fire' or somthing like it.
