i had too much and now i feel bad.
what about anyone else?
then had some chips to celebrate the end of said working. Then MOTD.
Then to McDonalds where the useless cunts put that awful, awful dressing on my burger.
and watched 4 episodes of House.
One of my favourite shows ever!
I literally watched a DVD and then sat on DiS the whole night.
Is that why it was down for an hour?
All my fault.
And eating a bag of Doritos didn't help I'm sure.
with a broom in the end some one got some dip for the doritos and she was off.
Seriously. I wasn't moving until I got some dip!
What can I say!
it was F-AWESOME
Correcto were underwhelming and a bit boring on stage, and they didnt have that guy from The Royal We who I always saw around before I knew he was in a band and I thought "he is definitely in a band".
I had never heard frightened rabbit before but was pleasantly surprised. Nothing mindblowing but the singer is pretty charismatic and stuff. Yeah.
Magik markers were a bit rubbish. Not even noisy or powerful or nuffin as I thought they would be. And they did that annoying "we'd love to play more but they're saying this has to be our last song".
Dirty projectors were AMAZING. Best band of the night. I was pretty much grinning the whole way through. The level of musicianship and songwriting is unbeliveable. And the vocal harmonies were gloriousssssss.
again, i'd never heard malcolm middleton and he was totally MEH. He was pretty funny between songs but the music was fairly unremarkable and the lyrics were the usual "oh i drink so much and am very very dour, but in a humourous way" but with really bad rhymes and cadences and stuff. yeah.
Clinic were pretty good. Got better towards the end of their set. Nice to see somebody older than 30 on stage for once.
Mogwai were CRUSHING as usual. They were totally loud and all that, but played a lot of new material which wasn't that good. They did, however, play like herod, which was brilliant. Finished on we're no here, I think. Left feeling a little dizzy, ears ringing and all that.
Pretty much all in all a brilliant day. Drank red stripe a lot and the venue was pretty nice. Didn't meet any DiSsers except omgz1one whom i've met before, atbay and cat g who I'm pure pals with anyway. Wowzers.
Empire, Uncut, bottle of red wine and a copy of Hard Eight on DVD. It bored me to tears, but red wine was nice.
I thought you were going to say something interesting about triptych, but instead I get some poxy magazines and a DVD.
i shall retire back to my pit where i spent last night
what's more i didn't see either rememberremember or errors, who both would have been good, probably.
ahh well im sure they will pop up again.
and endured an amusing amount of 'grief' *teehee* on this ere social board. EVENTFUL. I hate my friends for having lovers now. Single FTW.
Seriously bored with being single!
and am adamant to stay that way til i meet someone that i know isn't going to bore the hell out of me in a matter of months (unlike said friends). i just wish they'd do the same and not just settle for anything :(
i AM bored with not ever meeting that person.
I have been out with some 'Prize' blokes.
I am tired of getting my hopes up and then realising they are all the freaking same.
WHERE ARE ALL THE GOOD ONES?
and say: certainly not on here.
they're always taken....or too bloody shy to talk, then you find out way too late that they were into you.
I have yet to experience this.
I am slightly new.
You've been here for a while I gather?
but the ones that overpost on the social board seem somewhat, well...not my cup of tea. emphasis on the *overpost*.
there are some lovely people on here, including guys. that comment was more directed at three or four in particular. i take it back.
What's been said on other threads I can kinda guess the 4.
I assume you know them outside DiS?
the whole tache thing?
is Alex. I will give him is dues, he's certainly got a lot more to offer as a person than the prospective others have. I'd love to meat the others as well, though....just to, ya know, say Hi. I'm sure they're umm, nice enough :P
Unless that's a little sad.
Did you and Alex date?
it was pretty insane..... the improv duo came on first one guy on drums one on double bass and really tore up the place with some atmospheric stuff with splaterings of mad noise and rocking out sections it was brilliant and they bearly stayed still.
Then the maddness really started with a bingo game with mad jazz drum acompliment. The drummer was some times being nice and letting every one hear the game and other times would just go crazy to much hillarite as the bingo master a lovely Mrs Boyle tryed to tell him to shut up. The prizes where a heap of shite which made it even more funny cos no one really knew why the hell they where even playing in the first place. I managed to win some cheap imertation baileys and 6 cheap shot glasses yay. by the end of the bingo games the bass player was back and trying to freak out the bingo caller by sneeking up on her and playing mad noise in her ear. This was maybe one of the most insane thinsg Iv been to.
where on earth did that take place? that sounds amazing
called Hovingham in the village hall at an ace venue called The Shed they get amazing jazz people like acoustic ladyland polar bear fulborn teversham and mant I aint herd of. Plus I saw Stuart Lee the brilliant comedien there and it holds about 100 people maybe a few more its sweet. http://www.theshed.co.uk/ one of my fav little venues. I live out in the sticks near it you see it aint to far from York by car though.
i know the place, they did a jazz workshop with polar bear and leafcutter john, which i stupidly missed. good place
Leafcutter John was awsome with Polar Bear and he suported Fulborn Teversham as well. Iv never seen sme one make such beautiful noise with a slinkey before. I try go to lots of gigs there as they really bring alot of good stuff to the middle of know where.
somehow ended up in an over 25's singles' bar.
end of the world.
now in absolute paranoid fear i'm gonna be really lonely for the rest of summer.
I hope you're ok!
Is it a permanent thing or will you sort it out?
Besides Summer is always fun when you're single. winter I find is the worst - you tend to stay in a lot more.
we'll still be friends though i'm sure
i'm jsut worried i'm going to feel really lonely and isolated for a while. i want people to come round and chat and watch movies with me!
I went through a break-up in Jan, and I still feel like that.
The missing is the worst part.
I wish that would just go away.
Hey sorry about not getting back to you about the Moshi night.
Thanks for the offer.
Was it a good evening?
Then on here 'til late.
and possibly the first time I REALLY played it, like seriously tried, AND I WON A GAME. It was the most amazing feeling. I might become addicted.
We then went back for a White Russian and somehow ended up discussing world politics.
we sat and drank wine and talked for hours, then i managed to make the last tube home. however now i've just woken up and i'm really angry about this fact. i dunno where my phone is either.
angry that i've just woken up
and read a bit on crime and mentalism in early modern England. I don't like going out on a Saturday, too much jostling.
had a jam with my new band, in my friends bedroom. i played keyboard through a load of horrible guitar pedals and it sounded disgusting. we drank a bottle of gin and our drummer had a bit of a freakout, destroyed his drumkit, a guitar and his tv then passed out. then i went to a club and talked to a long-time-ago ex, felt funny, ate chips then went home.
6/10 for the night
10/10 for watching an irish man freak out.
was ill and felt lonely, then jimmy carr was on tv which made everything worse and i went to bed at 11 :(
