I don't think I can reiterate enough
how brilliant I feel at our beautiful victory tonight.
One thing you can say about being a Liverpool fan is that we're a very brave bunch. Our team puts us through complete agony in these huge, huge matches.
But because of our unequalled European passion, they charge right back into it and save the day again.
I'm in awe at the amazing level of talent I witnessed last night. Ryan Babel, Fernando Torres, Dirk Kurt, Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher... Take a bow. You were all humblingly superb, and have secured your place in our extensive list of legendary footballers.
But I need to also reiterate what makes it all the better:
Throughout the 60s, 70s and 80s, we bossed English football undeniably. We lost it in the 90s, but still the resentment's there.
Now, I'm fully aware of how much people detest my team. I watched the match with three United fans, all cheering Arsenal. They were passionate to see us lose.
And I cannot even begin to exaggerate the ecstasy I felt during those last few minutes. I know that all of you who hate my team so much will have been JUST as, if not more gutted than they were. You were all shellshocked. You couldn't believe how shockingly resilient and confident my team was.
I can't put into words how brilliant this makes me feel.
Ha.
