Losing your hair and the NHS

scutterbucket [Edit] [Delete] 14:57, 8 April '08

My younger brother is 21 and the poor fucker is quickly losing all his hair. He's shaved his head before and it didn't suit him whatsoever and he was light blonde so it's very noticeable too.

As any man can imagine, he's pretty distraught about the whole thing and decided to go to the doctors about it to see what they could offer him. There's a drug out called Propecia that he wouldn't mind paying for but the doctor wouldn't prescribe it for him (its not available on prescription but you can buy it from a chemist of you the recommendation of a doctor for the full price). He layed it on thick about how it was affecting his social life and how it was really getting him down and instead of offering him a solution for which he was willing to pay for the doctor offered to give him a lenghty course of anti-depressants.

How fucked up is that? You can get heroin substitutes if youre a junkie and free tit jobs if youre a woman on the NHS but balding blokes get royally screwed over.

Where's the justice? If i ever go bald i think i'll just kill myself.
