THE POINT might be closed by the council

Jane-O [Edit] [Delete] 18:50, 3 April '08

Following a complaint made by some of The Point’s new neighbours about noise emitting from the venue, The Point is now under the threat of closure due to impending court action. Whilst The Point are doing everything they can to resolve the issue, they need as much support as possible to keep the venue going and to keep live music alive in Cardiff.

An online petition can be found here -

http://www.keepthepointalive.com – please give your support.

The Point is a gothic-style, stone-built church in Cardiff Bay that was built in 1900. It has been active as a live music venue since 2003 and has hosted gigs from the likes of The Stereophonics, The Manic Street Preachers, Cerys Matthews, Super Furry Animals, Athlete, Steve Winwood, Glen Tilbrook, Funeral For A Friend, Willy Mason, Candi Staton, The Twang, Joe Jackson, Beirut and Iron And Wine among many others.
