Pretty nerve wracking?

So, I've just had a lovely email from a girl who I went out with for 5 years. We split about 4 years ago, but, on amicable terms and are still in contact.

I've only seen her once since then due to various factors...travelling, her moving to Vancouver to live with a guy then splitting with him, etc etc and now out of the blue she wants to see me again.

I'd really like to see her again and more than likely will go meet her, but, am ridiculously nervous about it at the same time. She's the only girl I've ever loved, she's utterly lovely, beautiful and dumping her was something I still regret.

Anyway, has anyone else got any anecdotes or experiences to relay concerning meeting up with an ex again after a long period apart?

How did it go? Was it all butterflies and meadows and wild flowers or flying crockery and blood on the walls?
