It would nice to finally get this mystery resolved.
why they built it so close to the A303.
My parents were hit up the backside at about 70mph when they were stationery on that road, because some 'tard was rubbernecking at Stonehenge.
Luckily they had a massive estate car which was full of heavy furniture. Otherwise I suspect I'd be an orphan now.
not Time Team. Time Team would have been awesome.
What's Timewatch then? I can't see the video at work.
(I'm only presuming, I haven't watched it, but Time Team is ace).
Timewatch is PROPER television. It's just a documentary from the BBC. I think originally they had:
Arena - arts
Horizon - science
Timewatch - history
I think Timewatch is probably still pretty intellectual unlike Horizon, which seems to have just given up trying to educated anyone over the age of 7.
Boring BBC version x
What's Timewatch then? I can't see the video.
What's Time Team then? I can't work the video.
My computer's doing the mega-slows. I will hit post reply ONCE and be patient :)
when I was at university.
I was stoned out of my gourd at the time. Despite this, I got an A. Lesson for you there, kids.
Tony Robinson et al doing a cover of Spinal Tap for Children in Need or something. I'm quite glad it's not.
*thinks for a bit*
You were right.
way for weekends (i'd even drive very fast sometimes). It always pissed me off:
a. the traffic was diabolical and often stationary
b. rubberneckerrednecks looking at the Henge.
c. more traffic
Anyway, Mirri, I think that this is an old episode - am sure I had seen them try to do something there sometime not that long ago? I love Time Team.
They got new theories about Stonehenge and stuff. That BBC article is dated today.

Lucky you weren't in the car!
It caused a five or six car pile up, such was the force of it.
Scary times. Getting a call saying 'your parents have had a serious car crash but they're okay' = probably the most frightening thing I've been told.
Even in comparison to getting the call saying 'your husband has thrown himself out of a window'!
shut the entire road off in front of Stonehenge for two or three hours. Poor commuters!
HOnestly, I've always tried to take shortcuts in that area, irrespective of who I was with, and got stuck on dead ends.
Damn country lanes.
i hope no-one gets drunk at the jcb controls and knocks it down before i get there.
