It looks nice, in a sort of Mac OS X Vista way.
At least, that page has. The rest is kinda the same.
All a bit Times Online for me. Bring back the retro look! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/1573566.stm
it's a superficial change. it's not as compact anymore; more like the mouth of a welly.
it looks like the new design has been done to make it more chimp friendly.
Our TV license fee put to good use yet again
Didn't really need to change.
Also: if our TV licence fee pays for such things, how can they justify it? Surely the BBC website is funded from some other source?
Or do we just call a TV licence a TV licence when it is really a access to BBC content licence?
Why the fuck should we pay for a website which people from other countries can access for free.
Also: I don't even pay a TV license :o so I don't know what I'm moaning about...
that there is an international version that outsiders get that does nave advertising on it. I might be wrong.
But I also seem to have thought about the BBC World Service being a wierd thing to be funded by our Licence fee... no?
doesn't it? I seem to remember watching top gear on holiday, and that it cut halfway through or something... long time ago.
Still though, I'd rather advertisements on our BBC website and a reduction of TV licence instead of the current setup.
We've all got AdBlock Plus after all! :D
is funded by advertising and the sale of the service to other networks. I believe it turns in a tidy profit which helps fund other areas, too. Especially when income from the sales of individual shows gets thrown into the pot.
So it's not alllll government funding.
also has adverts now when viewed from outside of the UK
It looks less like the Times Online site than the Guardian at least.
but no :(
It looks too "American", darn it!
I just don't like it at all. Bye bye Aunty Beeb.
Wasn't really necessary, but meh.
is horrible. Barely any news on it at all, and what little there is gets tucked well away so you've got to hand for it.
News page looks ok though. Quite like that.
It looks more cramped now than it did earlier.
I'd clicked on 'UK'.
