whats your all time favourite film?
24 Hour Party People
still do! i've seen it A LOT. but it's sooo ace.
I can't pick between the two
is second on my list :D
but I can't choose a laminated number one.
or 'The Lady Vanishes'.
closely followed by Requiem For A Dream and Being John Malkovich
It used to be Swingers, but it's not really any more.
Probably something by Wes Anderson (either Rushmore or The Royal Tenenbaums).
Or Weird Science. Or Back To The Future.
i KNOW that when the dark knight comes out it will be my favourite ever but until then these two will have to do
entitled to their opinion and all that gubbins, but please tell me you're joking about rocky 5 and GF3? they're easily the worst points in an awesome franchise.
is so ugly and shit. plus she gets it on with her cousin. i honestly cheered when she gets shot. i love the first 2 godfather films but i've only managed to sit through 3 twice and both times it depressed the hell out of me.
in the first one too. i love it being intercut with the baptism, "i do renounce him".
when michael dies is he holding an orange or something? i went on this sopranos tour once and the guy said in mob films/tv shows a recurring theme is people eating oranges before they die e.g. vito in GF1 and Tony Soprano is buying orange juice when they try and kill him in season 1.
i'm not hoping they make another GF film but if they did i'd definitely go see it.
have you ever read the book?
thanks, that i did not know. i think the book's incredible. There's a few superfluous bits in there (a whole section on Sonny's ginormous wanger, a girl with a huge bucket fanny that she gets fixed and another unneccessary bit about johnny fontane's friends throat) but for the most part it's great.
there's a so-called sequel called 'the sicilian' which manages to shoe-horn michael corleone in there but he has no affect on the story at all.
i read 'the last don' too that i thought was better than the siciilan but the godfather still is The One.
each time a variation of this thread comes up. You know, to fuck up the STATS.
The Fifth Element
end up doing, unintentionally.
this time i'm just going to post ALL my favourites and then never post in one of these threads again! (unless i forget that vow)
i ? huckabees.
manhattan murder mystery.
withnail & i.
the princess bride.
stand by me.
the royal tenenbaums.
the saddest music in the world.
the darjeeling ltd.
eagle vs shark.
the science of sleep.
the life aquatic.
back to the futures.
can't forget crybaby!
i love that over-the-top type humour.
they're doing a broadway show of crybaby soon/now. hope it's good!
But I remember loving
The Emerald Forest by John Boorman
Based on a true story.
or Cinema Paradiso, or North By Northwest, or Bringing Up Baby, or Seven Samurai, or Central Station.
You can go with the first, though.
I'm going for Natural Born Killers but I might change my mind tomorrow.
Love it love it love it.
but can't be number 1 can it?
I think I vote Heathers.
But now it's I'm Not There.
Closely followed by Kill Bill vol. 1..
