Did anyone see it on Filmfour last night? what did you think?
but I got really bored. Watched Fast Times at Ridgemont High later though. This speaks volumes doesn't it?
It was nice.
It's a triumph of style over substance. Having said that, it's pretty watchable, in a slick, souless, kind of way.
Some idiot might try and tell you that it's "style over substance" but they're missing the point.
What's the point?
9 out of 10 - Quite good.
9 out of 10 is more 'mega' or 'boss' or 'brill'.

The Paul Gambicini-ometer
i like it. but i don't understand it. i just pretend that i do.
Is it as avant-garde and masonry based as I would like to believe?
It's about a renegade stonemason called Floyd 'Brick' Chiselington.
He goes to war (in a metaphysical sense) with the Catholic Church after a Papal decree is issued banning the use of gargoyles.
'Who in God's name is that??!'
Pope Benedict: 'It's bricky!'
Brick: 'Hey, Holy Father, didn't anyone ever tell you getting stoned is bad for your health?'
*Brick drops half a ton of broken masonry on the Pope and Cardinal Richlieu*
at the toilet shop.
They're out of you!
though I had to shout "WOAH SLOW DOWN YANK" when he and his mate with glasses started spewing slang words every two seconds.
The presence of Nora Zehetner means that it becomes a 9/10 film regardless.
because the start was slowish so I was pottering, then I got into it partly because of its 'odd style', angles and need to know what the flem is going on here? I liked it overall but can someone tell me who off'd the scaggy/poshy girl? why was her bangled arm in the boot of the Mustang? Was it the kingpin with the authepedic shoe or the beefy blonde dude with the beenie? i'm confused...And what was the girl in the drama class with different outfits on every scene's input? HELP!
and really liked it. I can see why people say it's style over substance, but it really was brilliantly done and incredibly tense and strangely evocative. The camerawork was awesome too, pretty much every scene looked amazing.
It's all spoken in a language of its own invention. I'm not cool enough to keep up with it.
The footchase was good though, and the girl in it is a mega fittie.
