Hopefully more often than every 11 years!
gah, i'm getting old.
How can you sleep in ones that haven't been washed for 11 years though? Ewww!
I wash my duvet and change the sheets about once a month, though I've heard it should be done weekly.
I once saw a flea on my bed and couldnt go in the bed for days...
The thought of those dust mites.. *DIES*
I SAW FLEA FROM RED HOT CHILI PEPPEZ IN MA BED!!!
I too would have run a mile.
i think mines been over three years...
"debris including skin scales and house dust mite faeces" - stupid emotive language, so i switched off and decided the article must be bullshit at that stage. I'm sure it can wait another year or two, until i move.
although come to think of it:
I've never washed the carpet, i'd better start doing that regularly too...
that article is about duvets. I change my bedsheets less often than i should, probably a bit less than once month.
But I've never washed a duvet. It's never occurred to me. they get a bit gross every 4 years or so, then you have to throw them away anyway. Or you move flat and buy a new one for that reason.
get all frayed and messed up at the bottom. and they lose their shape a bit too.
i usually try to avoid buying things when i have something that can be reused, because i think it's wasteful. but this one is an exception.
Well then, it's a totally different matter.
Though I usually buy a new one every few years when it gets a bit ming.
Also, moving around a lot makes me buy new stuff.
11 years is a hell of a long time for a duvet though.
seeing a thread about bedsheets right after the big single losers thread.
HORRIBLE TIMING FOR THIS THREAD, BLAAAAAST
I don't feel like going to bed now :(
i wouldn't go until a couple of hours after the laundrette opens
Though he does look like he'd like to knaw on some flesh.
had made me realise how horribly lazy i've been with this lately. it's just i'm in uni halls and there's just a shitty laundrette and i have to pay for it and :(
Mainly on whether I've been eating in bed or not.
luckily mine are pretty new! My bedsheets really need a wash too. rankrankrankrank.
comfy, and such a good night's sleep.
i might change mine tomorrow
as I don't have anything to sleep in whilst it's drying. I'd probably only wash it if I spilled something on it, but it's enormous and probably weighs a tonne when full of water.
Feels great getting into fresh bed sheets.
I should do it more often...
then clean sheets is the tits.
I wash my bedsheets and duvet cover once every 2 weeks, but the actually duvet . . . . I never have. Must be 2 years old now. Does that mean we should also we washing our pillows? I might go and buy all new!
but have never done the duvet, that's 5 years...eeeks
Pillows I buy new every year or so...might go and check my washing machine capacity now
but I have no allergies so it can't be that bad, surely?
I have none either and we are very rarely ill..I put it down to strong immunity from not going mad cleaning and anti-bacterialing everything!
I'm going to stick to NOT washing . . . . my duvet.
then again my current bed is absolutely shite anyway. Seems a waste to put clean bedsheets on it
It is a Saturday morning job. Fresh sheets for Saturday night = mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
