i'm going to cardiff tomorrow. what shall i do?
but i can really only make that last an hour. i'm there until 9am the following morning.
i don't even mind cardiff, it's okay i think
Are you serious? Cardifff is a lovely city.
pubs,clubs, gigs....Cardiff is great.
i'll go to all of those. thanks.
Metros (stupidly priced drinks £1 a cocktail, some good nights)
Clwb Ivor Bach is a great pub/club for live gigs and music
to the barfly. i'm staying at the cardiff central travelodge. exciting!
The Barfly is bang on in the centre by Cardiff Castle.
what are you going to barfly for then?
it seems half the people in there are underage, still I suppose the music isn't bad. You really should go to Clwb Ifor Bach or Metros though. As for daytime stuff, wander round the arcades, look at nice clothes you can't afford, go to central market, grab a coffee at cafe europa.
a lot of the gigs are 16+ and some are even 14+... Over 18s just get wristbands to get served.
Yeah the arcades are quite good, High Street is my favourite, with Hobos and all.
Or is that just the Swansea one?
and google doesn't help. Sorry :\
I'm back in London, so you run off to the west. IHATEU
what are you NOT doing? eh? eh?
how's that girlfriend of yours?
or do you have some free time in the day as well? Cause there are loads of things you could do in the day that would be closed at night, and vice versa
if you need stuff to do in the afternoon, I suggest the central market. be sure to go upstairs to the balcony and get some hot choc from the smallest coffee shop there, it's AMAZING. Spiller's Records is worth a visit, the oldest record shop in the world, pretty cool eh.
because she's lovely. (In Spillers. Not Cardiff. Just walk into the shop, drop your trousers and shout GRAAAAAAACCCCE)
For shopping, try the arcades leading off the high street (the one that leads up to the castle). All nice wee delis and, er, boutiques and shiz. Avoid the big sterile shopping mall.
Be warned; students and old men alike will try and feel you up in that Barfly. I was one of the students, and if I ever move back there I'll prolly be one of the other lot.
wasn't meant that way :(
MetWed - metro's on a wednesday. student night, 80p doubles(if its still the same)
wander around the arcades, some excellent shopping there.
take the castle of the tour if you so feel like, otherwise don't bother. the museum is close to the barfly.
say hi to gregg at barfly from me.
is still the same on Wednesdays!
it's a grim old dump, try and get away from there to somewhere nicer. NOT metros.
i'm going to see the long blondes in clwb ifor bach (on womanby street, a narrow alley opposite the castle) then probably to my mate's DJ night in the basement of 10 feet tall (new bar on church street, again dead centre of town).
Long Blondes at Clwb that is, but it was sold out :(
Who’s playing anyway? I tend to forget that Barfly exists half the time.
Things to do tonight… There’re ‘indie’ club nights on at Clwb Ifor Bach and 10 Feet Tall, the latter has Twisted by Design in the ‘bassment’ and has comfy chairs so that’s nice.
There isn’t really much to do in a non-drinking capacity. Go to a cinema or something?
In the daytime just go for a walk around the town I suppose. The arcades are nice and there’s some veggie cafes in some of them I think. Or just lounge about in Europa drinking big troughs of tea. Go to Spillers because it’s ace (though Grace doesn’t work there anymore, in relation to a post up there ^ somewhere). Have a walk around the castle grounds (a nice big park behind the castle). Go to Forbidden Planet and play with the toys but don’t buy anything. Tell charity-muggers on Queen Street that you’re too busy to talk. Try not to stare at Ninjah whilst he drums the bins. It’s free to get into the museum I think, they have some nice paintings and stuff.
he was fucking another woman in the front window.
drive round in a hummer listening to DJ Sammy
Go to Jumping Jacks
at the new york bagel cafe. don't, whatever you do, have a california hoagie - you'll burst.
cardiff, simply get on the x4 bus to merthyr tydfil.
this will take 40 minutes.
get off the bus, walk round the corner to the belle, book yourself an ambulance and spend the night in prince charles.
cost-effective i think you'll agree.
