Anyone with any inside knowledge?
I'm looking for a decent club (doesn't have to be indie/alt) for a wednesday night...
et la poubelle est pleine depuis si longtemps
qu'il n'y a pas de place pour nos dechets à nous...
What kind of club are you searching for, which wednesday and around where in Paris ?
Ideally central but if its in an area outside the centre with other bars/clubs near that is fine.
Don't really mind - judging by the people i'm going with some kind of house or reasonably cheesy would be best but if you have any recommendations (in other genres)that would be great.
It was amazing, a brass band came out and played and the dj booth was in an old VW Beetle on the stage.
Sadly I was so wankered I have no idea where it was
but the line-up isn't ace and it's far from center and the area is a bit deserted.
This place was ace ( and quite central ) before changing name but I don't know if they're open wednesday :
You'll find many pubs and clubs around le Marais.
Most famous club in Paris might still be :
but you might have difficulties to enter.
And in a quite eventful part of town :
Thanks - They will give me something to go on...
go to the Pop In :
nice free gig with ace dutch band the usa ( former john wayne shot me ) and in the area of Bastille with many pubs and clubs. I'll probably be at that gig...
Go to the Divan du monde :
Nice ( free ) folk gig at 7pm in the nicest venue in Paris and then la loco or nice pubs around Montmartre...
about the 4th time - just go and enjoy
Its easier if I have some idea of where to go and enjoy...
(because I wish I was going as want to live there).
Look out for main gigs on. I saw Ewan Pearson at Elysee Montmarte when there last Sep which rocked the house.. excellent local dj's played before.
If you can speak French, navigate and mooch around the clubs of Le Marais...
I also went to Le Flech' D'Or at Lyle's Recommendation and apart from the really awful loos, the whole place was excellent... situated above a disused railway station. Where else in the world do you have English girls and French girls in a queue out the front, talking excitedly having never met before, SIPPING CHAMPAGNE (and it's not a poncy venue btw) and sharing...?
It's my spiritual home. Have fun.
Sounds really cool, will look into all that. Thanks!
