whose up for a flogging
was on tonight.
is it bad that i enjoyed it?
for almost the entire length of the film, and kept crying after it finished when we went to the pub
in a quiet and weird way. once told us a story about how he thought light shone from his hands during prayer.
i wasn't even that tired.
but worth a watch i think
I helped my friend make a film for his degree about censorship, so we did an interview with a guy from the BBFC. About like how they rate films, and how social trends influence what certificates films get. Man, he was like the acest guy ever.
Anyhow, he was the guy who gave the certificate to The Passion of The Christ. His view summed the film up for me.
"The film would've got a 15 if it had some context, but there was none. There was no reason for any of this happening. No, "He is dying to take away the sins of the world". No he is the son of God, here with a message of peace, love and forgiveness. It's just some bloke having the shit beat out of him for 2 hours. In concentrating so hard on what Jesus went through for us, he completely missed out on WHY Jesus went through that for us, which is surely far more important."
but you get to watch some bloke having the shit beat out of him for 2 hours though
and i like how they integrated that well-known fact that Jesus was the inventor of the dining room table. He must be owed a hefty sum from Ikea
this....the bald goth woman as the devil was cool though.
up the courage to watch this film, I am not good with gore, but I thought it was good.
I fell asleep before it started and missed the bloody thing
a (very) bloody thing. Theres no point to it at all other than "Here is a man being tortured to death!". The only thing i found shocking was that i didnt give a toss about what was taking place on screen. Bad, bad film.
