Gretna FC entered the SFL Division 3 in 2002 when Airdrieonians went under. Under the guidance of millionaire owner Brooks Mileson they bought their way up the division until they reached the SPL this season. Very romantic.

Brooks Mileson has taken l in recent months and his stream of money has stopped.

Two months on and Gretna FC are less than 24 hours from going bust. They can't afford the 30k to make the away trip up to Aberdeen this weekend.

Repercussions:
*Gretna FC go bye bye - good, you should never have been here anyway!
*Gretna FC are withdrawn from the SPL and any games they played are wiped from the record.
*Celtic move top ahead of Rangers on goal difference.
*Celtic have a better chance of winning the league - yay!

Gretna, this is what you get for trying to buy success. You have no fans and no income.

~500 fans watched your "home" game last week against Dundee United. Of course your home games are played in Motherwell 'cause your stadium is shit.

Factoid: ~1000 people watched Weymouth (21st) 'entertain' Farsley Celtic (19th) in a meaningless Conference game the previous Saturday.
