Music Social More…

so i've got a job interview tomorrow

alcxxk [Edit] [Delete] 21 replies 12:57, 6 March '08

and i have a strong suspicion that i've met the person who's interviewing me. at the deathset gig at bardens.

question is: is the fact that this interviewer has seen me drunkenly moshing to electrospazzcore an advantage or a disadvantage?

  • Advantage I reckon,

they'll see you more as a human being than just another interviewee.

Also, they might like you due to a similar music taste.

  • Depends what the job is.

If it's a cool job, it's an advantage. If it's the kind of job where such a thing would be a hindrance rather than a cause for high fives, you don't want to work there anyway. Is my guess.

  • I'd say it'd be a massive advantage

At least one shared interest, and people often come across as quite serious and stiff when being interviewed, so even if this happens they'll at least know you're not always like that.

I know I'd take a spazzcore mosher over an earnest jobsworth any day if I was interviewing someone.

    • As a caveat

I'm just making the assumption the type of job you're going for isn't for a surgeon position or funeral director where a bit more gravitas MIGHT be required

        • well, internship

with the possibility of a job at the end.

          further complication fact:
the reason i spoke to her at said gig is because she's livejournal friends with my then-girlfriend. hmmm

  • Depends

if you moshed all over his feet and elbowed him and generally behaved like a twat, he'll hate you and give you a polite, ten minute, tight-lipped interview and call you a tosser the minute you're out of the door.

Otherwise, has to be a good thing. He'll want someone with a bit of personality, you'd assume.
