After having a little tiff with a friend regarding how i act on various messageboards, the things i say and the general attitude i put out there, it got me thinking about how we represent ourselves online and how it differs from how we really are as people in the real world (when not hiding behind a computer screen).
Being completely honest and trying my best not to be arrogant, i would like to say that i am:
Real life: Very, very shy, pleasant, wacky, quiet and i genuinely believe i am a pretty 'ok' guy who wouldn't hurt a fly. Pretty modest, very self-deprecating and generally friendly. Can be very stubborn and will honestly break off friendships with people if they upset me (a bit dramatically overboard, but at least not two faced).
Online: Arrogant, sarcastic, patronising goon who, with a tongue firmly in cheek, vents boredom and annoyance at people i feel are inferior to myself haha. I'll be the first to admit that i can be an absolute arsehead, but i genuinely don't mean it beyond anything other than a quick giggle or as a smokescreen for inner turmoil. Lol.
I'd really like to know what other people think of themselves with regards these two different sets of lives we lead as board users. Genuinely. Please, at least a few brutally honest responses, i'm really keen to learn :)
