yeah, i'm going to Barcelona next weekend. any places i should check out? decent shops, bars etc?
the Picasso Museum, its interesting to see some of his early work if you want a bit of cultural
apparently the gaudi cathedral is a must. and youve gotta go to the tapas bars and the workers cava place, apparently.
i've heard all about the Gaudi park/cathederal - def gonna check them out, just wondered if theres any awesome shops - art, music, etc that are worth seeking out?
There's also Barcelona Pavillion and some awesome Domenech buildings if you're interested in other architectural goodness. I've never been, alas, so can't help with shops and such...
go to placa catalunya, camp nou, cosmocaixa (museum), the cathedral. Stuff like this.
cheaper and alot more fun. Depends why youre going/how much you wanna spend.
Am going to Primavera, I bet it'll be expensive then
the gothic quarter (for record shops/boutiques)
montjuic (olympic village/nice hillside views of barcelona)
font magica (a fountain that 'dances' to music and lights in the grounds of the national art museum of catalonia, best seen at night)
the harbour (for nice views/relaxing stroll)
plus anything gaudi...
hope that's helpful!
It's incredible. Don't go at weekends though if you can avoid it, it gets really busy and it's obviously nicer if you can enjoy it without hordes of people there.
The Sagrada Familia looks awesome, but don't bother going inside, it's literally just a building site. Just walk round it, there's a lot to take in.
Thought the Picasso museum was a bit disappointing personally. Quite a few gaps in the collection.
Razzmatazz is good on Friday or Saturday nights as people have already said. Get pissed before you go. Also a place called Sidecar on Placa Reial is good on Wednesday nights if you're still about. Get pissed before you go though, drinking in clubs is pricey.
Bar-wise just go into the Gothic Quarter and follow the noise. So many good bars there, it's unreal. My favourite was this one called Dusk, look it up.
Sagrada Familia is great to go inside. There's some awesome stuff on the construction in the exhibitions and you simply must make sure you go up through the towers. Amazing views.
the light through the stained glass windows is really nice
knocked off prada bags. walk around a bit until you find the naked tattooed guy. he spends his days lazing on a bench letting his wang hang out.
he's got some amazing tattoos which are worthy of a deek.
(and a pretty big wang aswell...he's even got is bellend pierced)
i'm all about the dude with the wang.
