Thousands of people have gathered in Louisiana for the christening of a US warship built partly from steel salvaged from the World Trade Center.
until all this silliness stops
Also, a sly excuse to stay in bed forever..
he's one of the people i'd like to have stayed alive, just to see what he'd have made of the world nowadays.
I imagine he might've lost it though and been a bit of a sell-out.
And so he should. I resent the fact that his service has been so widely publicised when there are hundreds of thousand of people who have been killed or seriously injured who have never been in the public eye for it - they simply did what they were being paid for, which is a soldier’s job. I do my job pretty well too, but I don’t go mouthing off about it in the press!
It's just pathetic media-mongering, probably initiated by the royal family themselves. And they can fuck right off too.
What's next? "Prince Harry does the washing up". Meh.
That said, I can’t imagine it’s easy being born into a family who are desperately trying to hang on to the public’s admiration – and I’m pretty sure the poor sod had nothing to do with the surrounding publicity, and probably even entering the army in the first place.
he's also a 'Deputy Lieutenant of Berkshire'.
has a gold blue peter badge
I'm fairly impressed with the young man.
Maybe he's not a "hero". But don't tell me being in a forward unit is no big deal...
...Stop me before I go into my Jack Nicholson in a Few Good Men impersonation....ha!
that's so unfair on the people he worked with, if he's singled out as a hero. It's more than I would have done in his situation though.
but at least Harry isn't in some rehab, praised for kicking heroin.
i hate the world
is OK. Drink yer run and relax to amazing psych-pop of Evangelicals and I'll catch up with y'all later. Nite gang.
furthermore, i am glad that he actually served, so the cost of training him wasn't a complete waste of money.
I actually feel a bit sorry for Harry over all this.
He stays at home and he's an over-privileged waste of space who never does anything to contribute to public life. He sees active service and it's nothing but a cynical PR exercise, designed to boost his profile and mask the injustices of the war he's participating in.
Doubtless there's some truth in that. But it's not his fault that he was born a royal. I believe him when he says he'd rather be doing a "real" job. Blaming the system is fine, but I'm not sure that directing the vitriol at Harry is all that fair.
they'reonly in existance to sell tabloid newspapers and to desperately the public's love admiration, something which the don't deserve. all they really want is the public to stroke their colective cocks.
but at the ame time, i feel bitterly sorry for poor harry. it's obvious to see that he didn't want any of this attention. because all the attention he's been given gives off the idea the other british soldiers that "prince harry's service to britain is far more important than yours."disgusting.
that we all really want to know......the elephant in the room question.......the one phil the greek will be desperate to know.......'did he 'bag a human' ....it would certainly trump Charles 'hunting trophy' tally.
Why DO interviewers never ask (volunteer) soldiers if they think that they shot anyone or think they killed anyone.....why is this elephant never discussed?
a satirical sort of vein. :)
then people might realise the horror that soldiers are out their everyday to purposefully kill other human beings.
