the hope and anchor for a pre/post gig pint.
and not far from koko, also, the victoria and the crown and goose.
None of them are proper close to koko, but all are less than 10minutes walk away.
The Hope and Anchor is fine in my experience - way better than the poncy one opposite the venu whose name escapes me. Reasonably friendly barstaff and the bands tend to drink in there sometimes, at least they do every time I've been in there pre-gig.
& the chocolate orange pudding is yum
to my knowledge, only been in once but it was fairly good
you must have visited when no one else was there as it's usually full of absolute idiots.
there aren't many good pubs in camden.
the only time i've been was with my older brother, maybe we were the idiots :D we DID run around the lock last week throwing those little bangers at the feet of goths and cackling manically and pretending to disappear like magicians..
we were definitely those idiots.
that sounds like fun to be honest with you. the idiots aren't the ones having fun really, they're the stuck up people who think they're cool because they're in camden.
yeah, they got bangers too, as did the smugged-up couples and anyone who looked miserable.
it was wicked :D
if only for those repulsive toilets.
It's been said here. But no one really tells of there secret favorites a second time, do they?
there's the one right next to it, by the box office, The Hope & Anchor.
There's 'the crescent' which is passable and has good large boothlike tables near the window.
There's Tommy Flynns which is alright, just up the road.
There's a really lovely one around the corner, on mornington crescent (the road, i think) - called... the victoria? i can't remember. but it's really nice.
Enjoyable but not for any of the right reasons
in the Hope and Anchor, so that one.
some pre-gig munchies?
is my favourite pub down that end. Nice no nonsense Irish pub, sometimes with a little Irish music jam session. Good Guiness n'all.
Pre-Gig Munchies, Tenessee Fried Chicken, No.10 meal.
