Modern day Chanuka miracles
I can already tell that this is going to go down as one of the all-time great threads.
Have you ever had any? I don't mean miracles around the time of the Chanukah period, but miracles which closely resemble the one from the Chanukah story, which everyone is obviously so familiar with, I'm not going to bother telling now.
Today, my chewing gum retained its minty freshness for almost the entirety of my two hour, 15 minute journey from London to Bristol (although I had a load more in my pocket, so it didn't really need to).
However, the best was when I was travelling from London to Cambridge. I forgot to charge my iPod beforehand, and getting on the train at my local Tube station, the battery meter thingy said it was empty. "OH WELL," I thought. "I'll just have to get as much as I can from it."
I got to King's Cross and it still seemed to be going strong, but about 20 minutes into the journey to Cambridge, something happened with the line or something and we had to be taken by a replacement bus part of the way. "Oh no!" I thought. "My iPod will never see me through this!" But it did! My apparently dead iPod lasted literally until the moment I got out of the station at Cambridge.
What should have been an hour long journey, which I didn't expect my iPod to even get halfway through, took a total of 3 hours, and my iPod was with me all the way. And that is the story of my modern day Chanukah miracle.
