Anyone go there/know anything of it?
i have a job interview there next week
and a few friends. what do you need to know?
but yeah, it's still miles out.
but i don't think he has anything to do with the uni
but lived in Egham (or somewhere in Surrey) for a few years.
Classic old people town. Closest town is Windsor which is full of upper middle class racists and assholes. The Iguana in Egham is quite good though.
and the above is a pretty sharp description, except it leaves out all the beautiful parkland and for some reason chooses to praise the iguana, which is rubbish.
the happy man pub in englefield green is quite good though, and there's a bit of life on the campus if you ahve anything to do with that.
oh, and the last train back from the city is 11:45 so you can make it to most gigs comfortably.
the EFG. In terms of any alternative music, the iguana was the only place I knew.
for 3 years. the uni itself is fine. town is dead but as it's only a job the lack of any night life probably won't bother you, right?
40-60 minute journey to/from waterloo on the train.
what kind of job is it?
Am i foolish to think that i can commute from london city centre IF:
i live near enough a tube stop that is near enough to Waterloo Train Station to get the 40min train direct to Egham
The pay is "good" for first job in London kind of thing.
well if the job's actually at the uni then you also have to factor in a 20min walk up the hill.
however, if you live somewhere like twickenham or richmond then you'll be somewhere between the job and the city and it shouldn't take you to long to go to either.
you live in central London and commute out: you're a mug.
against the flow of the milling throng
(right next to egham) for a bit a few years ago. there's a couple of ok student pubs in egham. staines is chavvy and rubbish for night life. the uni however has a good reputation and is an impressive building
she was very drunk and kept hitting on me. i was told by my girlfriend of the time that she later passed out in the female toilets.
i went to see the same band i'd met Royal Holloway Drunk Girl at a few more times, in the hope of catching her again. Sadly it just wasn't to be.
its in the most boring area of the most boring region of England. Thats about it.
for confirming this isn't the place i want to go next year.
