am hatching mad plan to go see a band there in a couple of weeks on a sunday night then catch the first bus/train/whatever back at about 6am.

i've only ever been to newcastle a couple of times, a few years ago, and i don't know it at all. nor do i know anyone who lives there, alas. so i have some questions.
how far away is the bus/train station from the academy?
are there any clubs near on a sunday night?
how likely am i {girl, blue hair} to get stabbed/raped/mugged between club chucking out time and getting the first bus?
am i completely insane?
