a good enough reason to wipe poo on someones face?
Although seriously what a cock, I'm glad the fan punched him. I'm not a violent person but if someone did that to me I don't know what I would do.
“We're a punk band. Everything we do is improvised. We've done sex acts on stage and I've eaten lightbulbs.”
What an asshat
that's being a fanny
It's just fucking out of order. To do something like that then justify it with 'well, we're a punk a band', then you clearly have no understanding of what punk really is. What a fuck.
but you've gotta admit it's quite funny.
Would you find it funny if someone did it to you?
Unless you meen that it's funny that some people are so ridiculously moronic.
doesn't sit well with the charmingly liberal, awfully concerned and worthy attitude on this forum, but..... it didn't happen to me. This increases the humour of the situation by a massive percent.
and thought that about you
..is completely overtaken by my annoyance at how some people can be such dick-heads.
I explained that very badly.
And some people here have the ability to be a bit empathetic towards the situation.
I tend to be in favour of most things within the context of a live performance but that definitely, definitely, definitely crosses the line...
I'm playing in that venue soon. *heebie jeebies*
between Dillinger Escape Plan doing a shit on stage at Reading and throwing it in the crowd, which everyone seems to find hilarious, or Iggy Pop terrorising all and sundry in the early days and then this guy doing that at a pub in newcastle?
What makes iggy and greg notoriously provocative rockers and this guy a try-hard?
Its a bit nasty regardless of who you are
and smeared it on himself, not the audience
is that DEP have quality to back it up. Pills From America are fucking terrible, I imagine that the music comes second for them.
going to a gig and getting shit faced..
"WE GONNA BE FAMOUS!!!!!
Just got off the phone with someone from the Sunday Sun, regarding the gig the other night. They're blatantly gonna portray us as racist pervets, but any publicity is good publicity!"
Apparently they're from tardcastle upon tard. God these guys are clever!
Realises who posted the above comment so therefore ignores it.
Still, I'd rather not have fecal matter on my face
end of the line for your persona.
I just don't agree with the band who did. The singer's faeces isn't the onl thing that stinks. Plus, they're clearly ignorant tossers.
For me it's a difficult one in so far as that I've both done and been to gigs where things have entirely got out of hand and I've behaved in ways I'd never do outside of that environment and I'd never get away with outside of that environment. And I'm well aware that if I tried to explain my actions without someone knowing the context of the gig they would find my behaviour odd, to say the least.
I guess the thing for me is that I feel gigs are essentially for the entertainment of whatever audience you have (or at least the section of that audience that likes what you're doing) and, whilst I tend to like most kinds of 'crazy' (again inverted commas massively important) behaviour, I don't feel it should be at the expense of any individual in the crowd.
Ultimately if they'd smeared shit on a guy who was happy to have shit smeared on him then I'd not have a massive problem with it and I'd think "well, each to thier own". It's only the fact they did it to someone who clearly objected that makes me uncomfortable in this sense.
I mean I don't know much about the band. Ultimately, at least once established, anyone who went to a GG Allin gig had a certain prior knowledge of what might happen and argubaly they put themselves into an arena where it might happen to them.
If it's similar in this case and it's likely the guy involved would have known Pills in America might do this kind of thing, then again I think you have to contextualise it within the nature of the gig. If he was some random bystander not looking to be at a 'punk' gig with extreme behaviour I'd feel somewhat differently.
that the person approaching you isn't going to smother shit on you so it's always a shock when it actually happens...
I would love to of read this post before knowing the context.
I'd sooner it didn't happen to me personally.
