i must say after a brief consideration, probably the m27 out of bournemouth.
the breathtaking scenery of Eccles and Ordsall is a sight to behold and no mistake.
birmingham, manchester a good part of the way to glasgow. winner.
I've spent far too much of my life in traffic jams on that motorway.
but I miss the Chester Road flyover. The underpass is shit
the Chester Road flyover was the next best thing
for it's the shortest and takes you to the delights of Eastville Park, Filton and the M4.
And they wonder why Bristol is congested.
Around Ferrybridge Power Station. That's nice and modern n stuff.
And it's always dead quiet, at least when I've been on it it has. And you get a really fast bit of duel carriageway that nobody uses near Micklefield where it used to be which is ace to drive on.
it's like being on the moon
That bit when you just come off the M25 going north, it's so desolate- the first time I drove that bit I was thinking 'what have I let myself in for... where must this lead..?'
all the good stuff is in cleethorpes (beach, pleasure island, grimsby town football club, boating lake etc.)
It's still pretty nice around Bargate and People's Park though. There are no decent bands. Only mediocre ones like 'the brightlights'.
Ken Wilde's farm.
who wants to see kims wildes?
Could suggestion but doesnt exist. You mean the spur road that links you to ringwood then turns into a Motorway by Southampton. Not a motorway i'm afraid.
I like that spur road though. Especially on the way in when the "Welcome to Bournemouth" sign is right next to the sewage place with accompanying stench.
The correct answer is M5.
i haven't driven the m27 for a while but when coming into bournemouth on it, there is a little bridge near ringwood that if you hit it full pelt you can get some slipstreaming going on.
The Wessex Way (A35) must be what he means as the fair county of Dorset contains no motorways whatsoever hence it takes about a million years to drive to places like Sturminster Newton or Weymouth, not that you'd want to.
and I went along with a reporter to the official unveiling ceremony for the name of that road.
I think "M6 Toll" is very imaginative, personally.
that it took them ages to come up with the name 'M6 toll'. i can just imagine the creative meeting now.
all the way.
gets my vote.
Up the M1?
No its clogged full of road works
and earthy diggers
it was shit but nowhere near as shit as the M25. M25 is definitely the worst motorway and I have to get on it to go pretty much anywhere.
mini-cabbers are renegades, they don't do the the knowledge. Requirements are an Espace, beaded seat cover and a full tank of diesel.
is a lie, and should be dismissed as such, and probably deleted for the sake of us all.
2 miles long. Love it.
there was a thing on Radio4 recently about this, and they come to the conclusion, as i'd expected, that the M602, as mentioned upthread, was the nation's favourite.
Where the carriageways split and you can see the sea in the distance. Always a sign you're getting near to ATP as well.
Always quiet, and you get to go over the Old Severn Bridge. Have to pay for the privelage though.
Cuts a nice chunk of the journey off between South Wales and the South West, avoids the M4/M5 clusterfuck and it is always a pleasurable and quick journey. M48 is great too, always nice to go over the old Severn Bridge and is a nice way of hopping over to Wales.
