I've scrolled back a few pages to see if there's been a thread on this, but haven't found one, so here goes...
It's a great film. Day Lewis is tremendous. His performance is not dissimilar to Bill the Butcher in Gangs of New York but it has it's own complexities. Paul Dano is great as the thorn in his side and they share some fantastic scenes in the church.
Epic filmmaking, great drama, interesting subject matter, fantastic performances and a pulsating score make this one of the contenders for film of the year.
