it cost me £2 to order from the library on DiSsers recommendation! :)
hope you are a fan of foot notes
I'm about 25 pages from the end of the main bit, appendices to follow :D
i really like it, ive read it 3 times, some of its a bit annoying like the bits where it is going really deep into scientific theorys and while relavant to the book they still are tedious. all in all its a really good book, just takes a bit to get yer head around the format. at no point did i find any of it believable though.
the authors other book only revolutions is good too, if not really really strange
only revolutions at all, couldnt get into it.
for pretty words though. i thought the language in the book was amazing. still i can see why its not to everyones taste, its nothing like house of leaves
I have both and am tempted to read only revolutions first because I've heard it is more accessible.
are completley unrelated. id say house of leaves is more accessible of the two definatley.
but I imagine I would almost definitely hate it and then beat myself up about the fact that I probably 'should' like it and then plough through it anyway.
where i ALWAYS* have to finish a book, even if i'm not liking it. i don't know why, i think it will frustrate me if i don't know how it ends. or maybe i'm hoping the book will improve.
*the one book i hated so much i didn't finish it was the da vinci code.
less than 50% of the books I start. I find most novels pretty disappointing.
The footnotes and all the fake referencing fucked me off beyond belief.
Having said that there's some genuinely good stuff in there, it's just overlong by about 150 pages.
