i read Kafka on the Shore a couple of weeks ago and liked it so i rented out After Dark from the library....and am really disappointed.
i don't know if it's because the story is not grabbing me enough for me to become involved in it and not think about the writing style but i'm just constantly aware of the writing style in After Dark. I don't like it at all. It's like it's trying to be clever but in doing so comes across as obvious and puts me off.
i'm going to try The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle next, i hope that's better.
