IT'S GAY GUEVARA OFF THE INTERNET! WHERE'S FISHPLUMS?
No one drinks in there - not even you!
...in there once.
where is it?
as a whole? Surely it's a given there are areas of most/all boroughs that are ugly shitty areas that you'd be unwise to wander around, but to imply London's all dangerous as fuck after dark isn't really fair.
Church Street is a narrow, fairly dark street and doesn't seem massively safe if you're used to posh areas and don't know it at all, so probably quite a good choice of location.
but Abbott does seem to glaze over the fact that plenty of places are dangerous to walk around, or at least acknowledge that peoples fears are legitimate, which makes her a bit of a momo
this proves nothing
it is a posh area.
there have been quite a number of assaults on and around church st and a murder in the time that i have lived in the area (year and a half)..this may be 'safe' for the borough of hackney.
I swear, it doesn't matter where you live, if you are unlucky, violence will hit you.
I also had a friend years ago who lived on Cheyne Walk in Chelsea (next door to Thatcher) and she got mugged and hit with a crowbar, her car tires slashed, and bag stolen.
So yeah, go figure.
I've actually felt safer walking through and being on estates at times because the people there actually 'know' who you are as you are on their turf...
It's about being streetwise, really... no matter where you are.
