Was school really the best thing ever and do you recall 'elders' telling you this at a time when all you could think about was books, football, records, politics, girls etc blah delete as appropriate? like everything in hindsight it goes so so so so quickly yet at the time you feel like youre in the middle of some long and complicated and REALLY important soap opera.

For me (including college and university) it was like anything good and bad with learning curves and as we all know the memory has an excellent 'edited highlights' function.
