I WIN EVERYTHING!
TAKE THAT BRISTOL, YOU CUNTZ.
not exactly difficult to get an unconditional to, but still.
don't be modest ;)
depending on the subject, of course.
Unconditional for law = no fucking chance.
Very much down to how popular the subject is and how highly regarded the science department is.
...having said that, Edinburgh Uni is extremely highly regarded so I'd wager that it's fairly difficult getting an unconditional for any of their courses.
It generally wants BBB at a-level. Whereas most English unis vastly undervalue scottish qualifications, Scottish ones overvalue them. Which is convenient for me.
There are millions of posh English girls there that've had their entire stint paid for by their parents.
you go big boi
How'd you do it? I need to know for when I try getting into a uni! lol
How? WITH STYLE, THAT'S HOW.
i was doing joint honours history + german until i decided i didn't like the german part of the deal very much. Nice work on getting an unconditional!
haven't decided about me yet :(
Not my first choice, but still...
It's windy and theres a mountain in the middle of it and there will be hot posh english girls who will be all like "YAAAAARHHHH!" and itll be bum.
Well for a PGCE course anyway. I'm ancient.
does that mean you can just sack off the rest of the year now?
and theres still a chance i might take it if I get the grades etc!
Plus, I think you can get a train straight to london for pretty cheap from edinburgh waverly, so...
ONE DAY I SWEAR
im still waiting on every uni apart from kings. who offered me one grade less than what they require from other students... go me... :(
What's 'unconditional' mean? Does 'conditional' entry mean you have to bring the dean coffee before classes? Or 'conditional' upon not fucking up your last 3 months of high school geometry or what?
Anyway, it sounds spiffy. Good on you.
unconditional means he is so awesome they want him to come no matter what he does.
that's well cool, good luck and stuff
We could have become friends IRL
i've no idea why. I guess it's a little more exclusive then edinburgh but still, the shouldave given me a high conditional in that case. It's very odd.
"I guess it's a little more exclusive then edinburgh"
I remember the situation being quite the opposite when I was applying...
I thought bristol was quite small/honoured its reputation quite a bit. I was applying for joint honours which could'ave had something to do with it.
I really want good conditionals from my other choices now, though, despite edinburgh being way above any others in terms of how much I want to go there.
a few years back edinburgh was like, fourth in the UK after Oxbridge and Durham.
Bristol does have issues with public school kids though, I seem to remember, and has a quite openly subjective admissions policy, but as such shouldnt be any harder than Edinburgh.
Don't know what went on then.
I guess they made the right decision, because i dont want to go there at all and it was really a throwaway application. C'EST LA VIE
The one who aren't idiots are absolutely brilliant though. And their independent from the SU newspaper is absolutely bloody amazing. The writing and the production makes me salivate. I wish I had those resources to hand for my lowly ents section in the Bath one :(
i have an unconditional but not from the one i want :( (yet, hopes)
as did Oxford. UCL offered me an interview, if that's anything to judge against
I got unconditionals from all four of the universities I applied to: Glasgow, Edinburgh, Strathclyde and Herriot Watt.
admittedly I applied after I'd got my results, but Mum still went round telling everyone this.
