Is this a bad idea?
What websites do you recommend?
but use betfair if you do it, you get the best odds.
If you have the bank roll, it's alright.
Don't go spending your student loan like I did last year on poker.
also great for ante post laying!
It's just for a little fun. I'm a small time gambler.
I think Sky Bet looks the most user friendly.
I don't really understand this betting. If I put £1 on Chelsea to beat Reading at odds of 1.25 and it says it returns £1.25, do I also get my £1 stake back i.e. i get £2.25 in total?
you get 1.25 times of what you put in back (so.... 1 pound 25)
this would be a 1/4 in fractional odds i think.
So I would only make 25p!
...here was me thinking I cold pay off my council tax debt by betting little amounts.
Maybe the accumulator is the way forward?
betting on 1st goalscorers is quite good, they usually start at 6 or 7 to 1, (for the best strikers) going up to like 25 to 1 for defenders (who sometimes get goals from corners or whatever).
Accumulators are good fun, and have good odds, but don't ever expect to win ;)
Never expect to win money betting on football.
Horse racing on the other hand....
apparently he has a foolproof system for betting on the horses (and winning), and he persuades some woman to bet her whole life savings. On friday. should be interesting....
We shall see how far beginners luck takes me.
youll probably get about 500 quid back. that should tell you how unlikely that is ;)
stick to small stakes on more than 6 team accumulators, and bet on doubles and trebles instead.
