Did anyone watch 'Dispatches: Why Kids Kill' last night?

DanielKelly [Edit] [Delete] 11:47, 29 January '08

This is not a Tory, stir-up-controversy thread, its just that one thing struck me about it.

It was a pretty tired, heard-it-all-before documentary to be honest, focusing on the economic, social, cultural and historic reasons behind the development og gang culture among the UK's youth.

However, despite the fact that these factors (poverty, lack of male role models, historical ties, marginalisation) know no gender boundaries, the fact that gang culture is an almost exclusively male phenomena wasn't ever mentioned.

Out of curiousity, does anyone have an theories why?
