Some notes on Alexandra Palace
No its not just for overpriced gigs you know, webtards.
Its a beautifully located building that is not only breathtakingly alluring and eerie from a distance but also commands the best view of London (back off Parliament Hill bores, you know this one is better), and even more romantically it transmitted the first telly signal in 1936 - imagine it, just IMAGINE IT.
Sadly however the interior is STILL utter utter turd, just tatty tradefairs and piss poor outside catering polystyreme plate food-cack and faded non-grandeur so tatty/tacky you wouldn't even convince a St Martins student that it was of worth. its as if the council thought 'Well we get wedge from the gigs and there's too many proles who come here for skating so let's watch it rot and pocket the cash'. What a shame, an utter waste of a vastly haunting building falling to pieces and not being used for the proper things.
Also every gig I've been to there has been shit - its just not the right acoustics for a tin pot [insert genre] band, though I did dream of seeing Blur there in 1994 but never made it, so why make us all get angina by walking at a 45 degree angle up the hill to endure 1 hour of carling fumes and tinny echo?
