following on from th PDA and swearing threads, how about drinking in public?

Like if you are going out (i'm thinking london here) and you take a drink, cans or otherwise, on the tube or bus. Acceptable? Reprehensible?

I admit I tend to do it, but the other week en route to a party, with a bag full of beer, my friend wasn't having any of it and said he was too embarrassed to crack one open on the tube.
