I saw it tonight. It's proper weird I tell thee.
Takes a while to get used to the singing...
It is, after all, a musical.
but i really liked this.
No Country For Old Men for me and the missus on Friday night. I'm subtly trying to steer her towards the Coen option, but I guess I'd be OK with seeing and all singing and all dancing Johnny Depp instead
Lots of throat slitting and blood though, which is nice.
And you can't go wrong with good old Alan Rickman.
but i am pathetically squeamish at the sight of blood. boo.
and definitely purposefully over-theatrical and unreal, so you might be ok?
no country for old men is tremendous.
on saying that, not that i've seen it, but sweeney todd might be a more suitable friday night-ish film.
'no country...' is definitely the better film but thats only because its completely and utterly brilliant, whereas 'todd' is very good.
Pretty enjoyable. I quite liked the singing after I'd gotten used to it. The visuals were brilliant as expected.
too, and surprisingly Sacha Baron Cohens role as that Italien (i think..) Hair growth potion master man was actually Really good and made me laugh when he changed back into his native Landaawn tongue.
Helena Bono Carter didn't need a wardrobe, hairstylist or make-up; she just came as she is.
I've always thought she's so beautiful
One of the most BEAUTIFUL WOMEN EVER?
I think so.
despite all the glowing reviews.
made me go. Good but weird.
A few sections of the opriginal stage production turned up in my BA coursework for analysis. The music amazing. So powerful and rivetting.
I can't wait to see the film!
