You won't be able to see anything!
My instructor just phoned me up because i've ignored him for about 4 weeks. He misses me.
she was like "how's your street for driving on?"
I was like "it's on a slope and full of parked cars"
She's gonna make me drive on my first go? NUTS!
straight after I was told what everything in the car did on my first lesson.
Be warned (Y)
there won't be many cars around anyway.
He basically just went through the very basics, like what to do when you get in the car, how the clutch works, stuff like that. Then he'll talk you through starting the car and everything. Basically you'll end up just practising how to change gears and stuff. It's good fun.
I was shitting myself.
"C'mon, Lucy! Go 70!"
and then you get to drive around it avoiding all the poles? :)
i guess i was really lucky. i didn't go on the road til like my third lesson. but i'm also a lunatic. so maybe that's not normal but the instructor was too worried to put me on the road??? hm.
though by the sounds of things, you were quite the lunatic driver too... :)
it was shit scary.
staying in the middle of the raod is a struggle, changing gears is a bit fiddly till you get used to it, pulling away is hard, other cars are scary, turning gets some getting used to.
basically, it all goes uphill from here but it's still pretty fun in a scary way.
I keep having dreams where i decide to drive away from where i am in a car. I then realise it's not my car/i haven't passed my test/i can't remember how to drive and have that HORRIBLE feeling you get in real life when you know you're in trouble and don't know what to do. I normally end up waking myself up.
Cars = scary stuff.
I had a really horrible one once, in which I dreamt I'd run over my dad by accident. :(
It does get easier, it's just the actual test that's a right bitch to pass and I should know. :'(
passed on his 7th go.
My step brother past on his 8th.
I'm just really, really bored of learning now. I just want to pass and get over it, but I turn into a bag of nerves and mess it up.
and you have to use GEARS!! tough stuff, english cars.
It was pretty tame. We just went to a quiet road and I jolted the car up and down for a bit. Sort of got the hang of the whole "clutch" thing.
Next time i'll be sure to crash to make for a better story.
get to touch carrots
It'll be far too expensive for me to get insurance and all that to make it worth it, and I don't even need it what with the subway and all that (in glasgow, anyway).
good to know i will be able to drive, whenever I need to though.
Girls like it if you have a car, but its financially unsustainable for me.
Also. I'm worried about my carbon footprint.
PS. That was a joke. I hate the term 'carbon footprint' more than you could know.
that's what *I'm* talking about.
tells me im a natural at finding the biting point.
