SPOT THE DISSERS
Is this still a black screen for everyone? Please tell me i'm not alone?
What's meant to be happening?
wasn't it meant to start at 8?
Had to move venue.
Think it's meant to be 9.30pm now, or 10.
sorry not had chance to read the boards
(said as if i know where the hell that is)
apparently. They wanted to fit more people in.
but seriously: according to nme, its still the same 150 people allowed in despite that place having a capacity way bigger. sounds like bullshit
something about the police getting uppity.
...for the past half hour. It's right annoying, like.
does nobody read nme.com????
i misread "doors open at 9pm" as "GET ON YOUR COMPUTER AT 9PM"
It's not like there's video that isn't loading or buffering, there's literally nothing embedded on the page.
So I wouldn't get your hopes up.
but its black
Infinitely more exciting than the footie at the moment.
still black, do you think they don't like Firefox?
the site doesn't contain anything - if you View>Page Source, all it tells you is the page is meant to be just a black background
rt click the black screen, copy paste the url!!! in network streaming, it will work...
lennyhenry.tv was better than this and that's saying something.
unlike lennyhenry.tv, this hasn't made me want to die yet
watch a black screen than football.
all the facilities for streaming, whatever those might be, were all at Rough Trade. Now that it's been relocated, will said facilities still be available and/or ready for use?
just a thought, like...
that the move will lead to a 60 minute delay.
its now 69 (heehee) minutes
"Radiohead have been forced at the last minute to change the venue for their free London show from the Rough Trade East record shop to the adjoining venue, 93 Feet East.
On the advice of the police and the local council, it was decided to change the venue to the larger one in the interests of public safety and due to the size of the crowd that turned up for the event. Rough Trade and the band apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Allocated wristbands only remain valid for the new venue. Doors open at 9pm prompt. There will be no admittance to anyone without a wristband and there will be no screens or speakers outside the venue - however the show will still be webcast from www.radiohead.tv!"
Quite a crucial one.
but surely they can move some microphones and a couple of cameras in three hours?
in a Wizard of Oz style manner.
he carried his guitar, just so people knew he was in the band
Maybe 93 Feet East doesn't have a good enough Internet connection to do streaming.
OMFG, they're opening with 'Creep'!!!!
feckin doubt it !
I just read "it's starting" and madly "dashed" (as much as one can "dash" whilst essentially clicking a mouse) to my radiohead.tv window.
He was mentally deformed at birth.
It's always gonna be like this.
....incredible scenes, it's like a Don't Look Back: Pablo Honey special...is your screen still blank?
But instead of "but I'm a creep" as the chorus, it goes "but you're a cunt". Before the song Thom dedicated it to YOU.
right, amazing scenes, mine just kicked in to life, Thom is doing a version of No Surprise with two hand puppets in the medium of mime !
missed Torchwood for this, they better pull their fingers out..
I don't even like Radiohead that much, I'm just curious.
I wasn't that bothered but the black screen is pissing me off now. I'm not moving from this seat till something happens.
Still no sign of a stagetime, but we are stood just metres away from where Radiohead are soundchecking.
They've just done ‘Faust Arp’ and ‘Bodysnatchers’
16/01/08 09:51:51 pm
Still no sign of a stagetime, but we are stood just metres away from where Radiohead are soundchecking.
I can't believe in order to put off revision I have literally just been refreshing a black screen for the last hour, this has to be a new revision low
I'm waiting for the "stream" to be more of a "trickle", like it was last time. It was like there was a guy holding up the new frame every couple of seconds.
and just play one note.
but never less painful.
reminds me of the Fast Show,
Black, all black, You lock me in the cellar and feed me pins, where shall we sleep tonight Mother? In Father's grave?, My eyes! My eyes are pies, and yours are lies, ALL LIES!, I am a fly, trapped in a bottle of SHADOWS! Bzzzzzz..., The gulls have plucked out my eyes!, What's for tea, Mother? Maggots on toast?, and They tap at my window with tiny poles
I'm concerned my javavideos dont work in IE and may not work in firefox... if anyone can provide me some clever video link that i can stick into windows media player/vlc I'd be greatful!!!
when it starts. obviously
THats what im getting
it shows a little windows messenger 'alert' in the corner (on radiohead.tv) saying "Thom is online".
Media player is there!
there's some reggae music currently being played..
now in the bottom right hand corner.
Proper shit video quality though.
Picture is shit and can hardly see the stage :(
Even at full vol :(
there's a feed off the desk, so might be all right once they get going.
webcasting the CCTV feed or something?!
not as good as being there but i'm not cold and i have access to a kettle
thats like CCTV quality!
I'm sure this will be on youtube/rapidshare tomorrow if it happens
well, maybe i'm not.
it did take me 2 hours to get home cos of broken points at fins park. cool
Will put it online somewhere laterz for people who want it
-mine's not working : (
who will push their way right to the front !!
for full screen fuzziness -
Sounds quality seems surprisingly good.
Do you think I've got enough time to get something from the fridge?
...that doesn't involve a pole being in the way?
you were right
SHE IS IN AND SAFE AND WELL
I just saw a friend of mine stroll in on the webcast. jealousjealousjealousjealousjealousjealous
Kid_A and heard jasmine_pearson! THEY ARE ALSO SAFE!
he's not safe :(
This bizarre two tone, nightvision/mare will have to do for me.
I can't get it??
and choose 'zoom'
"concrete jungle" is this on In Rainbows? :)
Concrete jungle not one of theirs.
the picture is so shit its impossible to tell
Someone who is hooked up with "the gang", make it happen.
having wristband 001 and 002they still apparently got "fucked around" with the change of venue and are not, I don't belive, in sight. Oh well.
OH REAL SOUND!
When speaking to folk there, there was just a lot of noise so I couldn't tell if there it was srsly dlyd.
of the sound desk
a single can of larger, a woolworths pack of 'foam fruits', and Radiohead on my screen. <3
Someone did a strum
sound that excited
oh now they do
is a concrete jungle
imagine a picture of the CCTV footage from a corner of 93 ft east.
This is good.
they have more than 1 camera!!
if they play Planet Telex i'm becoming an Arsonist
more than one camera CONFIRMED.
This is fucking brilliant.
i don't have pictures though but sound quality is briliant
i wish i was there :(
i have no pics...:(
it looks incredible.
I Love VLC!!!
there are cameras everywhere!
really is great. Think they were jokin' about with that CCTV shit initially eh?
this is amazing... the next best thing to being there... with more cameras... and less hassel
That's the crowd shots camera from the back. It zoomed back to alien mode just now too.
He dropped an F-bomb!
(All my future posts will now start OMG)
who cares.. its going to be brilliant
aha i bet they will
rly all of dem?! OMG OMG OMG! Dis is awesome DiS!
proper SPACE ROCK OUT.
Nope. mind yew, kettle's just boiled.
I loved that bit!
TAKE NOT THOM
are they just going to do the In Rainbows album track by track do you reckon?
always get pwned.
must be frozen into their places from standing outside all day. lollypop.
All I want soon then. That's - ahem - all I wanted.
All I Need?
Talkative Thom. Ace sound. Looks pretty great.
Doesn't quite make up for 5 hours in the cold...
Although I'm pleased to hear people shouting 'Creep'.
I like this song. A lot.
Also, they're playing all of In Rainbows in sequence tonight.
This leads me to believe that at some point tonight Radiohead will play House of Cards.
I am now excited about this again.
it reminds me of Marvin Gaye.
voice sounds spot on fairdos. And Havant and Waterlooville beat Swansea. What a weird night.
Brilliant voice. Good man. But - is that a medallion I'm spotting around his neck?
It's a Jim'll Fix It badge.
1000x better live imo.
I've always loved the prominence of the bass (and the drums) with Radiohead
thom yorke in my gym once and he came back to his cross trainer to check i hadn't nicked his water. now he is giving it to crowds. i don't think he likes me.
^5d me once
on the album, oui?
one of the best one the album! You are wrong it seems!
It's my fav to be honest, absolutely love it !
it's a few minutes of nothing to me. Thom's head is going to fall off.
plz yeah. it's egg, like go to sleep.
i love radiohead.
did this kind of shit she was called a renegade, a pioneer, a boundary breaker...now radiohead do it and everyone is spaffing their pants as tho it is some great new thing. Nice teeth thom.
Sandi Thom sucks the ball.
don't think so, just an amazing band doing a nice little webcast. As opposed to Sandi Toksvig did you say ? was'nt she on Number 73 ?
was supposed to be a picture of said Sandi. I fucked up though.
but i cant stop watching :(
i'd so be there... just be greatful for all the other great stuff you've seen... (last year i ended up at Interpols afterparty at KOKO and saw The National do an instore on Boxer's release day so i count myself lucky!)
FUCKING SCOTLAND AND BEING SO SHIT AND FAR AWAY AND SHIT!
but i dedicated my day to sitting around in the cold instead of working on job applications.
was it as great as it should be?
in that it sounded good at first, but that became irrelevant as soon as Bodysnatchers started
i dont think they drums come across as well live as they do on the record... it still sounds very much like it did live last year
All I Need sounds beautiful...
the best show ive ever seen and i wasnt even there.
It really is.
is really very special
This is awesome. Wanted to be there but travelling a hundred miles when i foiund out at 3 was out of the question. sounds beautiful tho
completely backlashed and subverted to death when it was released. It's fantastic and beautiful and MWAH.
My favourite on the album, wonder how it's big drum sound will come off live
its going to be good
how amazing in AIN live!
I wanted it twice :(
think he heard you.
He can play da bass.
Odds on an encore ? if so, what will they play ?
Thom is "the main one"
Jonny is "the intense one"
Ed is "the handsome one"
Colin is "the cheeky one"
Phil is "the drummer"
obviouslt thousands of others have, but that feels sort of cool
I even stood in Mr Greenwoods spot, *swoon*
somehow that doesn't make me feel any cooler than I already am though.
is easily my favourite on the album
RIGHT at the front? she's literally stood in front of thom.
i hate her
I've not heard that yet
I like the album a lot more now.
this is really, really good
i might cry
I AM THE SECOND COMING
Knows what she wants. Goes and gets it.
because they queued for nothing.
whatevers you lot. she's there. we're not. she wins. winning is good.
didn't stand around and get bummed, so hearing some actual hard evidence of jumpery is TERRORBALS. Anyway, it was a joke, and if we can't make jokes through our teary eyes, then you can go eat a bag of dickz.
but if there were as many queue jumpers as you say, then "people like her" did
Maybe everyone else did. SOMEBODY IS TO BLAME. When I got there at 2pm, there certainly wasn't more than 80 people infront of me. Then before my eyes, people must have been growing out of the ground.
Anyway, right now I am drinking loads of wine, I have a ticket for Nime, therefore, I think I am currently winning at life. Big style. YO.
i just checked her last.fm. i didnt know she was a big radiohead fan, and it suggests that it is, so i feel better for her
i wonder if they've got the piano onstage...
as in the piano they normally wheel into position...
looks like he has a big long mullet from one of the cameras.
It's amusing me to no end :)
like they did in 2006 (god, that long ago)
with the big explosiony ending rather than the teetering album one.
Videotape's probably my favourite on the album.
Also Thom looks a lot like my dad in this.
OOh, I recognise this one
This is brilliant.
I love right now.
Bless her, rocking out like there's no (work) tomorrow.
Videotape at Hammersmith was :O:O:O:O:O:O:O:O:O:O:O:O:O:O:O:O:O
rocking out ?
does that count?
My foot has been trying to get in on the action too
anything the hecklers are saying.
he said come for a curry but I might be wrong!
That's a nice heckle.
this is so amazing. i wish i was there so much :(
i'd totally press that pedal right now. viiiddddeeeoootttaaapppe
i think it sounds pretty good considering.
ahhhh this is great.
album = 30 times better now.
on the album, I love it.
look how close that girl's head is to his keyboard. She should phone her mum and get Thom on the blower to her..
cant be arsed to go through this thread
they are playing according to the tracklist. This is videotape.
the whole of in rainbows in order
dancing is distracting me
seems quite a detached performance in relation to the audience due to thom having his back to them but it sounds so good :')
it doesn't seem to be the same one as me!
you just meant Videotape though isn't it
what i meant was that the way he had his back turned was like...yeah i can't explain it. woo encore!!
And it was on videotape! HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAH
i wish i had payed more attention to this thread an hour ago
encore....ooh here they come!
Banana Co next?
sweet. another version for the book
TAKE THIS, BLAIR.
please dont let them play the bends
thats the question!
this can only mean one thing
Or I'll be really annoyed that I didn't try harder to get in.
Highlight of when I saw them last year.
i think i'm lagging a bit behind the rest of you!
i really want Jonny to play the CHUGGA riff from Creep just once to make everyone there wet themselves...and then they play fitter.happier
I love this song so much, can not believe they would pick it for this! AWESOME! ARGH! Possibly my favourite Radiohead song! AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
when it came in then ? phwoar
As I've never heard it live.
Shall I text Claire and ask her to write it on their setlist in eyeliner? With a wee note: "dedicated to DiS" :)
In red lippie.
eg wmplayer, paste url into network stream
CRY CRY CRY
murder everyone who attended this gig, sheerly out of envy.
fucking stupid fucking organisation lacking bollocks
pretend this never happened, and then the people at the gig will be confined to mental wards for the res of their lives.
about fucking time
all officially shit for not being there. Let us not speak to any of those who went when they get back to cyberland!
time we had some Jonny-wizardry!
This is fucking amazing!!!
They're doing one of their good ones.
almost as special as that secret Embrace gig i won tickets to.
that I really wish I lived in fucking London!!!!!!
I nearly did.
and lost the use of your toes too
it hurts how good this is. Especially when they played You and Whose Army. Argh.
the moment that song started = better than anything else (so far)
fucking IRON LUNG
THIS IS INSANE!
I am well jealous (though not about the standing in the cold for however many hours).
And the webcast is pretty fucking sweet.
so so sweet.
Hopefully, this means those shows in the summer would be amazing.
nice. very nice.
for anyone who got bumped out of the que. I'm dying inside having NOT qued up for hours.
fucking queue jumpers should be shot...
they should have "fair queue enforcers".
scary ghost lights!
look at him go
else see skulls in the light flares?
havn't seen one of these in ages.
I want to die.
now it's really starting to hurt inside
i dont think i can watch any more
strange contradictary post that !
Fuck off already Radiohead, please. I don't want to hear how good you are anymore.
What a very average tune.
i have no "at least im didnt pay £50"
or "at least i didn't have to queue in the cold for four hours"
or "at least they only played songs off the album i dont like that much"
or "well last time i saw them it wasn't that great"
i havent even done anything remotely fun with the time in between leaving brick lane and now
cos you were allowed out of the queue to piss, and now theyre at a real venue with ok toilets (normally a lot of piss on the ground tho)
and good benches around the edges
can someone please check if he's ok
a song that i dont like that much, but i know smeeeeeeee is crying right now and i want the world to feel my pain
there are no other words
and to think, we were both there, at the queue and should have stayed
they hated playing that live? I thought I heard somewhere that they were so sick of it, they pretty much refuse to play it live. Or did they go back on that?
The bends'll do me just fine though.
I thought I heard that. But agree I could just be confused.
...sorry, just gutted i couldn't be bothered to que up.
It was pretty embarrassing.
although Mid-set at Earls Court in 2003... it was unreal
Shame. I've got a great live version of it somewhere.
intimate venues only (including Brighton concorde. Twice)
All free. Goodie bag and discbox if you already spent £50 on their VP date.
I fucking knew it
Watching them play this on Jools is what made me love them
I LOVE THIS BAND AND EVERYTHING
I hate everyone under that roof.
"IF THEY PLAY THE BENDS OR MY IRON LUNG I'M GOING TO KILL MYSELF"
whos got the arsenic?
now you've got to kill yourself twice
just sing it properly cockface
burmehburmehburmeh as well
reggae then. Night all.
I was thinking the new stuff sounded quite good, and then they played some old stuff.
thom slurring :)
First album I ever bought was OK Computer but I never really got into them and my knowledge of their catalogue is shite.
Really REALLY makes me want to see them live though. Those £50 gigs sold out?
Bloody hope not now, anyway.
Suspect that was the point of the entire free show. Get the final tickets sold.
they haven't sold out yet.
all finished. that was bloody brilliant. Roll on june
some tickets keep coming on sale every now and then, you might be lucky!
Glasgow Green here I come. Bought and paid for. Ouch, I now have no money whatsoever.
/me waits for this to appear as a .torrent
you properly got the atmosphere and everything.
I have stomach pains of envy.
i reckon a second watch wouldn't be that amazing, so pretend it is live when you inevitably find the torrent.
i've got 29seconds with no sound if you want that?
It will effectively be live for me, as I haven't read any of this thread and won't have seen it before.
what a hero.
...cuz I wanted to watch it all properly.
The excitement/disappointment/absolute gutted-ness when they did that encore was unbelievable. I literally almost cried at one point. Ha!
Another London hater right here!
Guess I'll definitely have to fork out a small fortune for Manchester now...
It felt like a real musical event and I'm glad I watched it.
Gonna keep it forever!!
Brilliant. Pure class.
Pls link us when you upload it? Thank you.
bloody hell that was brilliant.
oo, Cast Away is on.
http://www.movies-on-demand.tv/ to watch something to cheer me up
to think that all those losers who were really there have now got to traipse home in the cold, whereas you're already there?
Us 1, Them 0
fuck it, i'm getting one. I don't care if it's extortionate and it'll probably rain and all that.
then one could of hoped for, great quality and really good performance!
I am grateful to my burglars for forcing me into buying much better PC speakers.
I STILL WANT MY FUCKING TROUSERS BACK THOUGH YOU ARSES.
They took my brand new trousers off the washing line. Humph. As you can tell, I'm still not over it. Everything else - whatever. But I dug those trousers.
both i guess. synchronise genitals
(obvs i have it, just not with me)
I'm doing the same.
it was like a little window into the gig.. it was really special just sitting watching it on a feed like that whilst smoking the sweetest cigarette ever. im fairly sure no live feed henceforth will ever come close to that
I DON'T CARE! I'LL BE GOOD IF ONLY I HAVE THE HAIR, I SWEAR!
if only all webcasts look and sound so good.
what an event :D
well done all, it's been emotional
it wouldn't have been the same without this thread (unless i was actually there, of course :( )
watched it with my housemate. enjoyed jokes like *shouting* 'MATE, DO YOU WANT A BEER... I'M GOING TO THE BAR. HOPE THE QUEUE ISN'T TOO LONG!'... then going to the fridge.
Has been an epic thread. good effort from all and it made it somewhat easier to know i was the only who couldn't go (obvious, i know). Still, got to witness something right special tho
when he did that bit of strumming towards the end and i was like, it sounds like they're going to play the bends, but no, they definitely won't, they've just played irong lung, no way will they do 2 bends songs, right in a row at the end... AND THEN THEY PLAYED THE BENDS
have sweaty palms going on? just a tiny bit?
i've still got a big RADIOHEAD.TV tab up at the top of my browser, just sitting there until i calm down
the euphoria of the last couple of hours made that infinately more funny
The file is 120mb!!
Start a techie thread. This one's a monster.
For video = awesome.
use windows movie maker to make it smaller
then use zshare to upload it
but i'm honestly not going to get over it for a while.
thing is I'm going to get into 6th form tomorrow with my jaw still around my ankles and no-one's going to understand at all. Their loss!
i see you've been busy
seemed like a bit of a waste of my time.
Radiohead= pretty meh, really?
for this reason, but then i did, and i'm pretty glad i did
but watching them play a set over the internet? Not my thing. I've seen them live once, and I did really enjoy it. But it wasn't like a massive epiphany or anything.
you really got the atmosphere.
i wouldn't go so far as to call it an epiphany, definitely not, but it wasn't a waste like i thought it might be. it was good, really glad i gave it a try
i was wrong.
you are wrong
I really do forget how good they are.
Really, they're totally not "meh" at all. They're not "out there" in any sense, but that doesn't necessarily make them dull. They properly master the "soundscape": it's subtle yet tuneful and blends perfectly with the songs, which are obviously good enough to still sound brilliant played acoustically.
so I guess they won the war.
It is a brilliant example of the "community" of DiS.
... apart from all the resentment towards people who got in (by whichever means).
I nneed slep.
to do an audio file of everone speaking their own posts points of veiw style.
THESE BLUDY IMIGRANTS COMING OVER HRE & STEELING ARE RISTBANDS FOR RADIOHEAD SHOW!!!11
what a nice number, damn it! 556...
Thom Yorke's performance of Up On A Ladder:
You And Whose Army:
The National Anthem:
My Iron Lung:
Don't thank me, mine crashed half way through uploading!!
i heart you
is there a hate campaign against me?
didn't you need a wristband?
to be one of the first in the queue to get one?
sorry to be so dense and all.
Best band in the world.
There'll be loads of these all over youtube, but these are ours!
All I Need (complete with the requisite big hair in the front row obstruction) - I love this song:
The money shot, and the closing moments...:
so so true
