Reinstalling iTunes -
will I need to rebuild my library?
I'm reinstalling my media players, as some spyware has led to mass audio skippage :(
Would reinstallation work? Or do I need to reinstall my audio device?

if you re-install itunes
you're going to have to put every single song back in again, trust me I have had to do this at least 5 times in the space of the last few months, sucks.
hopefully itunes saved it
file>import>hunt around for a file called library.xml. providing your music is all still in the same place youll be cool.
Yeah it's all in the one folder.
make sure you save a copy of your
latest library.xml file. copy it to the desktop or summit
What about the tags?
Should they still be saved? If not, I will get very angry.
Tags get saved with the actual file I believe.
I'm pretty sure tags are embedded.
as in ratings and stuff?
should all be in there. song names. whatever.
you found the file? its actually called itunes music library.xml
I mean,
it took me hours to sort all my songs into albums etc, and into running order. Will that have to be redone? Please say no.
no
Hold down shift
as you start itunes, and then select your old libairy
