I have just realised that not going to Connect Festival last year was the biggest mistake of my life
In all seriousness, most utterly stupid decision I have ever made, or probably ever will make.
At the time I was mildy annoyed but thought that going to Leeds with half a dozen of my friends (who don't like good music) would have been more fun. Yes the line-up was largely rubbish, but Smashing Pumpkins were playing (supporting Billy Corgan's ego) alogn with The Shins, Interpol and Devendra, plus the Carling Stage is always somewhat of a sanctum. Battles, IWACS, Silversun Pickups, Foals, Frank Turner and the DJ playing Public Enemy were great yes, but it wasn't this * http://www.connectmusicfestival.com/content/default.asp?page=s12 * was it.
What the hell was I thinking? I have never been more wrong about anything in my short 21 years.
I couldn't afford both as I'm a student bum, so why did I not ebay my Leeds ticket for an absurd profit to some Razorlight-loving lunatic and go off up to Scotland with my one friend who likes decent music. Who needs friends anyway?!
We were just talking about it on good old MSN and came to the conclusion that we have very little reason to live any more. I mean, what are the chances of the line-up being that perfect again?
I think I might cry.
