why aren't there more programmes like this?
depending who is on. Sometimes the pretension makes me retch.
And they should never talk about modern music. Ever. It's always embarrassing.
talking about Bjork once. Oh my god.
where else on TV do people actually TALK about music, and not in a fawning pr machine Jools plug? People seem to be scared of expressing an opinion, or the bigwigs are scared of showing it for fear of burning bridges. And so all we get is a late-ish night BBC2 show, only really watched by the Newnight crowd
Yes, the pretension is often a bit silly. But i'll take it any day of the week compared to meat n' potatos superficiality
I'll agree with that. It'd be nice to think that in this brave new digital world there would be room for a music show that had a few people who knew what they were talking about AND didn't pander to the mainstream, but I guess that's too much to ask for. Newsnight review will have to do.
I used to watch it when I was about 11 before Fraiser came on and think 'Oh yeah. This is on my wavelength.'
