It really was the golden age of theme tunes and title credits......
Was essential viewing on Saturday afternoons when I was knee high to a grasshopper.
and shows based around the premise of awesome crime fighting vehicles and/or renegade maverick vigilante lone wolf types who play by their own rules!
Canny get enough of my renegade/maverick/vigilante. Especially when they have some super-cool vehicle of death/gadgets!
The BBC really need to stop wasting our money on all this planet earth pish and invest in some more of this stuff!
The shows on tv these days don't even have a moral to the story at the end.
i loved both those shows, haven't heard that music in an awful long time.
"While Dr. Chase was meant to have the ability to change himself into any animal, in practice his onscreen transformations were almost always into a hawk or black panther, with the exact same backdrops each time, presumably to save on the budget, though on one occasion he was seen becoming a snake. In the episodes when Dr. Chase turns into a bull, dolphin and horse, the actual transformations occur off-screen."
Panther transformation scene!
a show that only ran for one series at either the very end of the 80's or very early 90's called Yellowthread Street?
and was based around a group of cops based in a rough/tough neighbourhood fighting hard-ass vice gangs and what have you.
I seem to remember the music being very good.
'the corner'? it was the first step on the part of hbo to make sprawling, high-quality 'gritty' drama about, i think, detroit, and the lot of junkies, hookers and hoods living in one rundown district.
I just found the first scene from episode 1 and it looks great:
airwolf. ernest borgnine for god's sake.
