Who has one? Pics?
I'm going to book an appointment to get one (technically two) done tommorrow and I'm in a nosy mood.
get it right!
are vaginas not scary enough already?
if you'd like to see:
i just got the cherryblossoms on my arm finished yesterday, FINALLY!
It's one of the Hawkmen from Flash Gordon!!!
and i fucking hate it.
think very carefully about what you get. (i'm sure you will. but unfortunately i didnt).
I got my first (and only so far) when I was fifteen, which was three years ago now. To be honest I put little thought into what I was getting at the time and just picked something from the flash on the wall at the seedy shop I went to, but luckily I really liked it and I've grown to love even more since then.
what it is.
My friend gave himself one of this and regretted it so much he gaughed the skin out of his arm, leaving him with massive scars.
i'm very close to getting a brian chippendale character out of his book 'ninja' done. i've thought about it for about 8 months. keep bottling it though.
whats it like getting it done?
it feels kinda nice actually.
(way way too long for what it is) and i only started to hurt in the last five to ten minutes. Even then, it wasn't too bad at all.
Although what I want to get next will be on the top of my foot and accross my ankle. I've been told this will be really bad pain-wise.
and she squeezed my hand through ti. I'm gonna drag her along with me when I get mine done so that she can return the favor!
are all tattooists sleazy, or has it just been my luck???
He is now in prison for possetion with intent to supply.
He was more creepy than sleazy really.
I got mine done in Tongue 'n Cheek in East Kilbride (near Glasgow).
mine tried to kiss me yesterday AS HE WAS TATTOOING! i told him to keep his attention fixed on the tattoo :(
The tattooist who did mine was a thoroughly nice bloke. Very talkative, and funny, plus he plays stand-up bass in a psychobilly band which earns him extra cool points.
after a few hours my body couldnt take it anymore and started shaking really bad :(
i was thinking shoulder blade area. on the fleshier bit. is this good?
As I said above, wasn't that painful.
I have quite a high pain tolerance. I assume it changes from person to person as well..
And a snake wrapped around the ankle of my other leg.
I've been designing and finalising it for three years and now that I'm finally getting round to getting it done, I kept wanting to completly change it!
But with a leaf as well.
It was oddly difficult to bite a bite-shaped hole into an apple to draw it..
i've tried that before too! tres difficile.
afterwards when the tattoo starts healing and you're not allowed to pick at the scabs (otherwise you rip the colour right out). ah picky picky picky, i know mine is going to start scabbing tomorrow :(
this is mine
It wasn't overly painful more strange as your leg twitches as the needle passes over nerves.
I really want another tattoo, I like the idea of a swallow but I'm still drawing out ideas.
they're so lovely..
I like old school, sailor type tattoos.
I've been thinking about other designs as well. I love swallow tattoos, but want something a bit different. Was thinking of getting a robin, but in the style of a traditional swallow tattoo, as I really like winter time and it'd be a nice twist on a classic tattoo.
I really love the sailor style.
I've got a whole pile of bird pictures and sketches I can't wait to get it done but I won't rush the design. Also I can't really afford it yet.
that foot one is really good...
I was quoted £150 for the one I want, but my friend who's got loads of tattoos said that was an awful lot.
i'd love a ship, but one sailing away from harbour, not towards...
which wasn't the cheapest quote I got but I'm glad I payed it, I want to go back to the same woman for my next one.
Sailing ships are great when done well, there was a guy at a pub I lived in when I was 16 who had a brilliant one.
There's one or two places I've been recommended, I'm gonna go today and have a look about..
i've been trying to turn this Kozy N Dan piece into a tattoo but i still can't get it quite right.
it's one of those things where it will never be perfect but only perfect will do if im gonna put something that permanent on my bodacious bod (sarcasm is implied here btw)
they did the cover art to the Postal Service's Such Great Heights single. the piece i'm trying to rip off is linked below except im not interested in the Dj guy or the girl
I also think they look a lot better on women than men.
It depends on the tattoo and where it is. They can lok brilliant on guys as well.
but a good tattoo or a whattheeff? tattoo always wins my heart :)
recently got three large black outline stars on his forearm. He claims he designed it himself, but they are so bland it wouldn't have taken any thought.
Stars seem to be he new tribal tats.
Don't get me wrong, I like them on some people when encorperated with other things in a design, but just on their own, stars can be a bit dull.
Its pretty faint tho...
Where most men get them just looks really crap.
I think we'll have to agree to disagree. I do think most things look better on women, come to think of it.
I fell in love with a girl the other day who had an amazing tattoo all down/across her arm.
I really wish I had gone over and spoken to her but i'd probably just have stared and said something really stupid like "Hi, i er like er your er tattoo".
A well chosen tattoo or two is something I definitely like on a gy....
i have one my arm of a 'two tier' old fashion pirate ship following three bright(thickly rimmed) stars, the middle of whom, shines the brightest(the most thickly rimmed with rays coming down) representing the north star, i don't remember the reason why i got it, something to do with following your dreams i suppose
Here's mine, had it done a couple of months ago. The picture doesn't really do it justice, especially as it was taken a couple of days after I had it done and my arm was about the size of a Zeppelin!
I'm getting another done sometime this month.
I don't really like skulls/skeletons as tattoos, but this design is mind-bogglingly awesome.
Seriously, I love it, love it!
The other design is awesome as well.
as is the one on your arm
on the top of my arm, but im not sure
the only reason i chose not to is because it might make my arms look all "butch"
but hey its worth a shot!
But I like it
when you wear mens jeans
are you coming onto me?
(this was the best comeback i could think of without resorting to stock comebacks)
about an inch below my hip.
i got it when i was 14, i regret it now, but not too much seeing as no one really ever sees it.
Im contemplating getting this http://www.southern.net/southern/band/GDSPD/pics/index2002_r1_c1.gif up by side/ribs
but its going to be a lot worse if your skin is covered in retarded drawings that you (should) regret getting done after about a week.
in the same way, so why not enjoy your body when its young, by making it look what you think is nice?
If you like tattoos get one. If you don't don't. DUH
I just happen to really hate tattoo's, thats all. I think they look incredibly ugly and unnecessary, but I realise in a thread about tattoo's I'm going to be in the minority on this one!
Band tattoo's are the absolute worst: I knew a guy who a few years ago got a Biffy Clyro tattoo on his arm. FUUUCK. You'd definitely regret that when you're older.
you dont like tattoos you dont get one. its like telling people to have their hair cut. i realise when im older ill think i looked a right twat the way i dress/ have my hair. but im young now and i like it. so why not?
(i realise tattoos are permanent but you get the idea)
Your tastes will continually shift throughout your whole life, so having something so definite printed onto your body doesn't appeal at all to me. Photo's and memories and can catalogue all the changes well enough, personally. When I see a tattoo on someone my very first though is "that is horrible", regardless of what its of.
at the time, given that you should be an adult when it is doen i think you would still retain that meaning later in life.
Like I say, I'm not being a fascist and saying no-one should have tattoo's/you're an idiot if you do or anything like that, just that personally I think that they look horrible.
i dont think anyone would think less of you for that, its just personal choice isnt it.
not only because i'm an uber black flag fan, but because to me it symoblises being 16, just discovering music and not giving a fuck. So even if i fall out of love with Black flag (which won't happen) then its their to remind me of glorious times past.
is it the four bars?
on my forearm. The amount of people i get asking my about the 'barcode' on my arm is annoying, but i love it and wouldn't swap it for the world.
