That seems Mu-HENNNtal
if life were to evolve somewhere that has similar conditions to this planet, there's at least some logic in suggestion that evolution would find similar solutions to similar problems.

with the revolving dancefloor?
I once saw someone crawling round the dancefloor, trying to catch up with their shoe. It hadn't occured to them that they could just step off and wait for it to come round. Typical 70s.

That there are no songs not by Planet Earth
is that it's highly unlikely that there is, but also highly unlikely that there isn't. given:
1) the miniscule chance of a planet providing a suitable habitat for life
2) life subsequently evolving there
3) the unimaginably huge/infinite size of the universe and the endless possibilities that entails
Mostly I believe that intergalactic travel would be so fucking difficult as to be almost impossible (for us and for them) and therefore the chances of us ever coming into contact with extraterrestrial life are minimal even if it does exist. So it's all academic anyway.
the chances of an intergalactic travelling extraterrestrial life just happening to come across our planet in the course of their tootling around the unimaginably huge universe.
