I'm going to have to go home every sunday to watch it.
Thanks Jamie. I can't fricking wait.
there are only eight episodes so far. so there's going to be a massive break in the middle. curse this writer's strike!
or maybe even writers'.
but really not writer's.
they've only made eight out of the planned sixteen. even if the strike is sorted.. like.. today, there's still going to be a midseason break.
i don't know why they're going ahead with showing it. should've done what fox did with 24 and hold off completely.
first they call off the golden globes, thus depriving me of watching the red carpet coverage on the e! network, and now this!
apparently 24 may not actually premier until the 2008-2009 season starts now, as fox want to show it without gaps in it. BOOOOOO.
i'm glad Jericho was only renewed for seven episodes, as those have all been completed. haha!
now i'm glad i dont like anything thats on at the moment. MWAHAHAHA.
i'm gonna rewatch babylon 5. oh yeeeah.
i want to see this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babylon_5:_The_Lost_Tales
the whole stinking thing. so good.
GET THE HELL OUT OF OUR GALOLXY!
i can't quite remember?
you disgust me.
that whole of the show was now recorded and in the can!? I have been grossly misinformed.
i watched episode 9 yesterday, and sayid found the cable that leads to the underwater station :D
again over the holidays. I still maintain the last episode of series 3 is the greatest episode of any television programme ever made.
of only fools and horses with the chandelier
I was literally screaming with joy.
one of the few programmes that does that to me.
Its made me scream, laugh and cry. Not too many things do that.
What are you doing tonight? WINKEHPOPS ;) ;) ;) ;)
the pilot of flight 815 is Greg "Matt Parkman" Grunberg.
Heroes / Lost crossover would be SO RAD.
he's just a JJ bitch.
just allowed one of their songs to be used for this show/advert. http://www.gigwise.co.uk/news/39819/a-silver-mt-zion-sell-song-for-lost-tv-advert
pretty much confirmed by everyone except sky one themselves that it'll be back in the UK on february 3rd
There's a trailer here:
It returns. There are variations for the trailer, but that's the most detailed.
As gunty said, they'll be a break after 8 episodes, but it kinda ties in okay because there's apparently a cliff-hanger at the end of that episode.
The promotion for series 4 in other countries is beyond belief. There are real-life billboards for the Oceanic Airwaves fictional airline in New York, Munich, etc...
There's also an interactive game - www.find815.com - that's relevant to the show (you play as a character who lost his partner on the plane, and after Oceanic decide to stop searching, you play as him trying to locate the plane). Kinda cheesey, but if you're an obsessive, it's worth doing.
I can honestly say I've never, ever been so excited in my life for the season 4 premiere. No gig, album release, christmas, etc compare at all.
I can't stop thinking about it
[also, some secrets are being leaked from the script already, so if you're searching around, be careful!]
10 of the 13 mobisodes have been released.
They're really good.
- featuring Jack talking to Ethan, Michael almost kissing Sun, more info on Walt, etc etc...
and then download them. There're also links to stream them on the abc website, but those new seem to work
for that trailer. bring it on, oh god yes!
who both criticises Lost and has seen the second half of series 3.
people never got to that point
'how can you hate buffy? the series 4-7 story arc where the evil vampires take buffys soul and give it to a beautiful misunderstood male hobgoblin from a parellel world is the peak of all human artistic achievement'
"how can you hate the smiths? morrissey's lyrics perfectly encapsulates the ennui of the 1980s and oppression by the thatcher regimé of the working classes, whilst johnny marr's guitar playing is highly accomplished and experimental", you mean?
the smiths aren't any of that, they totally sux0r.
of whatever the series was called. it was just buffy in space mixed with Lexx but without the nudity.
wrong it's actually funny.
although lexx? :D that was great.
It was good.
Watching it made Serenity even better too!
on the greatest television ever made.
watching Deadwood and/or Twin Peaks. they just stopped watching Lost.
but my point still stands I've never heard a criticism of the second half of series 3. Everyone who stuck with it is massively rewarded.
and stop the flashbacks then?
bar one or two people. And certain acting performances from others make up for that.
The flashbacks are a massively useful tool when it comes to characterisation, and often give more substance to the show as a whole.
Also - there's a flashforward, off the island, at the end of season 3. But it was done like "boring Jack flashback" until the reveal at the end. I believe this is up there with cinema's greatest moments - "I Am Your Father", etc.
and has been around for many a year, i love it loads but even i dont watch it over n over again dispite its greatness
jamie's inability to process people actually enjoying Lost is kinda funny.
i don't hate lost. but i don't like it really.
the thing is, i really REALLY don't understand this scary uber hype excitement.
it's really not THAT good.
to put some actual storyline in and not bullshit filler, it can be enjoyable.
it's the one good! one bad! one good! one bad one bad one good! way the episodes seem to go. with only little tiny plot developments, and then lots in one episode. which is why my interest waned. i didn't think it deserved my attention.
kate's a dumb bitch.
jack's a prick.
you don't have the attention span for it?
i'm actually perfectly happy that there's a TV show that rewards patience and attention to detail.
also, in terms of the show's internal mechanics when compared to other TV shows, it isn't slow.
slow at times, but if the mysteries etc were to be explained within a couple of episodes, there would be no appeal to the show. The most rewarding/incredible moments are when you wait for series, and finally there's an explanation.
Also, there's so much to it. I think people who don't watch the show every week - and even casual viewers - don't understand. There's so much depth, so much to think about, ponder, discuss.
This is exactly why I love the show. I find Heroes entertaining but so so so shallow in comparison, there just seems to be nothing to it at all.
Everything is always building, the story is always growing.
I can honestly think of maybe 3 or 4 episodes, in 3 seasons (72 episodes) that genuinely are filler.
Plus, with the shows deadline approaching, there really isn't any room for filler anymore. The writers have a certain amount of episodes left to wrap everything up neatly, meaning I think it should be similar to the fast pace of late series 3 right until the end now. "The Beginning Of The End" as season 4, episode 1 is as much a reference to the off-screen developments, as the plot itself.
Which simply tread water and do nothing at all to progress the story! Normally coinciding with some absolutely dreadful backflash sub-plot.
When it's good it's very good though.
have you seen EVERY episode of each season?
later doesn't retrospectively improve the crap you had to sit through to get there.
b) it does. But it makes you think, it explains things during "the crap" you'd wonder about.
the detail is unbelievable. it makes people who say the writers are making it up as they go along pretty funny.
Also - why would the writers introduce mysteries they don't plan to confront, or have an explanation to? IT MAKES NO SENSE
in the last series, where kate and jack were off the island and jack was a bit wobbly and went to some mans funeral. we know now for sure (sort of - it's lost, who knows?) they don't die and get off the island!
