Well not THAT famous but sometimes, just SOMETIMES OK? its exciting to suddenly realise when youre reading or re-reading a book that a place mentioned ios somewhere you know really well or have been to appropos of nothing. Well it does me, anyway and that's ok isn't it?ZONINO
This lunchtime I realised that in Orwell's 'A Clergyman's Daughter' (a rather likeable yet drab 1930s outing which nevertheless contains an interesting insight into hop pocking if nothing else), he mentions the Waterloo Road and Lambeth Cut among more familiar London backdrops and I suddenly realised I work near nearby, so I ran down there and just looked around, nothing more, and tried as hard as I could to imagine that it was 1935 and I was looking for a room for the night. A tad difficult with a Be Good To Yourself New YOrk Deli sandwich in your hand, but a very breathtaking experience nonetheless.
Anyway you get my drift - isnt' it exciting when you realise trivial things like this?
